"I'd rather read a Left Behind book"
What about a "Harry Potter" book that someone had left behind on an underground train, the bus or a in a taxi?

I'd rather have a bottle in front of me, than a frontal lobotomy. X3

Oh no more, please Mr. Wilde, I am bereft of ribs! Frankly, the works of the 21st Century Oscar Wilde, the blessed Stephen Fry (pbuh) are infinitely more preferable to your definition of 'realistic' literature; to say nothing of the comic stories "Invasion"/"Savage" (the British resistance, led by Bill Savage, against the evil Volgan oppressors, in "2000 AD").
PROTIP: The book by Craig Thomas "Firefox" (made into a film by Clint Eastwood five years later) was published in 1977. Years before the concept of 'Stealth' had entered the public consciousness (F117-A, B-2); Mach-6+? Project Aurora today. 'Thought-controlled weapons'? Voice-controlled weapons in the Eurofighter Typhoon today. Never mind 'realistic', Mr. Thomas had foresight in his literary concepts. The Quantum processor AI in the UCAV 'E.D.I.' in the 2005 film "Stealth". Quantum computers exist today.
