The Bible says that God made man to be the care takers of the Earth. If global warming is man mad or being affected by our actions it should be every Christians imperative to do everything to fix the problem. If its not it should still be your imperative because God can't be too happy that we let the ice caps melt and fuck up the delicate of the Earth's ecosystem.

It has been proven? Cite evidence or please, STFU.

No, no, no. It's neither sin, nor gravity that holds us down. It's the air spirits pushing us out of their way whenever leave the ground... now that, my friends, is science!
11/28/2007 12:24:43 AM
So, "Look, we're destroying the world" means that it's OK and I should feel good about it?
P.S. Even if sin does exist, it has never been proven that sin causes natural disasters or global warming. Quit making up crap.
11/28/2007 12:50:23 AM
Sin causes Global Warming?
11/28/2007 12:56:27 AM
You couldn't be more wrong and stupid than if you went to university and and received a degree in being wrong and stupid.
Sit down, keep quiet and don't disturb the adults.

Sins like SUVs and incandescent light bulbs and desktop computers running SETI.
11/28/2007 1:28:38 AM
No. Global warming is no cult. Fundamentalism bears many of the marks of a cult, though.
Why should warnings of global warming have anything to do with Christian anything. The warnings are as a result of practical stewardship of the Earth.
The linking of 'sin' and natural disasters is risable. The weather that passes through the bible belt is far more severe, and causes far more in terms of natural disasters than in godless Europe. So that one fact pops that little balloon with no difficulty whatsoever. In a word, this proposition of sin = weather = natural disaster is pure Fantasy.
As to the end times, your own scriptures promise that Christ would return during the very life of some of those living in the first century of the Christian era. He didn't. That is a promise broken. And no amount of juggling with words and meanings can alter that fact. Almost two thousand years later there are still people trying to square the circle on this one, refusing absolutely to face reality - denying reality and the very words of scripture - to satisfy a myth they have been told to believe in. And, no doubt, to satisfy some deep inner need and insecurity. Pathetic.

"it's based on the goddess concept "
No it's based on the thermometer going up.

11/28/2007 6:13:15 AM
Sin is causing the world to get warmer?! So the answer is what, use more lube?
11/28/2007 6:41:08 AM
Stewartship? You mean like Patrick Stewart's ship, the Enterprise? Wait, now I'm really confused.
11/28/2007 6:55:46 AM
Any time I hear someone from RR or T4C decry something as a cult, I have the urge to laugh and laugh...
11/28/2007 7:48:44 AM
Driving SUV for Jesus!
11/28/2007 8:05:26 AM
Nope. If our sins are the cause of Global Warming, it's because of the sins of pride and greed. Otherwise, the environment doesn't care who you bed, who you kill and who you lie to .
11/28/2007 8:14:16 AM
Surprisingly I agree with this when he says "Sin is the cause of Global Warming". To a point.
So, bulldozer, why don't all you fundies quit sinning by thinking you can rape and pillage the earth and start doing something to fix it. I believe that would take REPENTANCE.
11/28/2007 8:41:30 AM
Yes, the sin of all those cars you use to drive four blocks to the market.
11/28/2007 11:25:29 AM
What have you assholes all got against mother nature?! You know, if you believe God created Adam from the dust of the earth, that would make the earth your mother, right? Why do you hate your mother? Taking care of the earth shouldn't have anything to do with religion or politics; you should just fucking DO it. And whether or not there really is a God, whether or not global warming is caused by humans, hell whether or not you even have kids, the earth is like a home you rent and when you're done living here you should leave it in as good of shape or better than you found it for future generations. I hate idiots like you who think it's your right to destroy the earth just because you think the world is coming to an end. The rest of us don't believe it so FUCK YOU.

Y'know, for people who are so insistent on using Pascal's Wager, why do they not apply it on a situation with real, tangible results? We stay the course, maybe nothing goes wrong. Maybe it's all just (no pun intended) hot air. Or maybe we manage to completely decimate this planet. We change our ways, and at least we know we're safe.
11/28/2007 1:52:31 PM
Actually bulldozer, "Global Warming Movement" pretty much a political movement. Now "Rapture", that's a cult, invented in the nineteeth century with dubious scriptural backing!
11/28/2007 3:00:06 PM
Your spelling, grammar and punctuation are dramatic indications that the end times are here.
11/28/2007 3:12:29 PM
Yes. Definitely turn your minds back in to the Creator. You're not using them, and they can go to someone who actually will.
Recycling fundies saves the planet!
11/28/2007 3:50:53 PM
Sin is the cause of natural disasters, eh? It have been prove-ed by bona fide scienticianographers.
