Why do many denominations ordain women as pastors considering Jesus only chose men as his apostles and Paul's teachings on women not speaking in church? I have never understood this as it seems to me like it disregards Biblical teachings.

I went to the actual thread and was pleased to see an actual discussion of the relevant scriptures, the context of the times, etc. and people arguing (politely) both sides. It was a breath of fresh air in the Rapture Ready venue.
Because Mary Magdaleine and Mary his mother were too close to him, spiritually. And because Paul was a mere disciple and many of his(other)rules are taken only as "guidelines". Well, and maybe because it happened 2000 years ago. And they have to be consequent.
(The altar boys can back you up on that.)
I'm sure for them, that it'd be a nice change, to be the ones doing the backing instead of the other way around.
TEH PENIS KNOWS BEST award.
Though I am in posession of male genitalia, I do most of my thinking with my brain. I would, therefore, expect women to do so as well, and see no reasom why they should be barred from being ordained as priests.
Though I am mistified why any well-thinking individual would want that job.
Mary Magdalene, and Mary and Martha as his patrons. That is all.
Oh, and Paul talked about and praised women preachers. I just don't have my Bible with me this semester. I'm sure I have it written down somewhere in my many Word files on the subject. It's probably near the end of Romans or one of the Corinthians. But I can't promise that.
Each gospel has a varying account as to who the first people to learn of the Resurrection were, but they all agree that it was the women, and a woman who was told to go and spread the news that Christ has risen from the dead.
In other words, the first preacher of Christianity was a woman.
You lose.
Because some of them realize that women aren't inferior, Captain Misogyny. They also usually don't condemn eating shrimp & lobster, wearing polyester blends, or women not covering their heads.
Plus, and I know it's hard for you to grasp this, Jesus is the main character in the NT, not Paul.
Why do many denominations ordain only men as pastors, considering that Jesus revealed Himself to women first and chose Mary Magdalene to tell the news to His disciples? I have never understood this, as it seems to me like it disregards biblical teachings.
Because Paul was a misogynistic pig. Or did you ignore his venomous, jealous remarks concerning Mary Magdalen?
A book by men, written by men, and you wonder at its blatant patriarchal structure?
Because Jesus outranks Paul in most Christian churches(except your fundie ones). #1 First person Jesus shows himself to after Resurrection, Mary Magdalene. #2 First person to tell MALE APOSTLES(hiding out for fear of Romans) of the GOSPEL(good news) of Jesus Resurrection, Mary Magdalene.#3 Is Paul really anti-woman or is he trying to break the power of specific women(the Oracle at Delphi and the Vestal Virgins)in pagan religions that Christianity is competing against?
Jesus was betrayed by a man. He was sentenced to death by a man. And Paul never heard Jesus preach during his life, nor did he ever read the gospels (they were not committed to writing while he was alive).
Do you people EVER invest a moment's thought in your scriptures?
