Quote# 31685

I stand behind fully capable and professional scientists that sound alot more plausible and in line with scripture imo.
tossing around scientific lingo doesn't impress me much - I hear both sides going at it and you may as well be speaking in Chinese; when nonscientific people hear 2 opposing scientific experts going at it, it doesn't convey one is more correct than the other becuz they are ignorant of the science itself.
Apply Bible text to it, and then some can start making better assessments. & some may never know or come to any conclusion.
and that's Ok too.

Thankfully none of us have to know science of any kind to be a born again Christian, so I don't divide on that merit.

"when nonscientific people hear 2 opposing scientific experts going at it, it doesn't convey one is more correct than the other becuz they are ignorant of science itself."

Sadly true, but fundtards deserve much of the blame for keeping people ignorant.

"Thankfully none of us have to know science of any kind to be a born again Christian..."

Fundie in a nutshell quotes are becoming so common these days its scary.

Doctor Whom

If you apply passages from Harry Potter, people may have an easier time making up their minds, too. That doesn't mean that they're "making better assessments."

"when nonscientific people hear 2 opposing scientific experts going at it, it doesn't convey one is more correct than the other becuz they are ignorant of the science itself."

At least he's honest.

"Apply Bible text to it, and then some can start making better assessments. "

Explain how ancient myth helps you understand modern science.

"Apply Bible text to it,"

Just google it caveman.

Riiiight, so basically you're saying you're too retarded to tell truth from strawmen, but think the best way to tell fact from fiction is see if it fits with the bible.

No prob.

Just as long as you realise the bible is fiction and whatever has been dovetailed to fit, must also be the fiction.

Argument from personal ignorance.

I hate the willfully stupid.

You may not need science to be a born-again, but to dispute reality and profit from science, you do.

"...scientists that sound more plausible and in line with scripture..."

This concept alone falls flat on its face. You cannot be a real scientist and follow scripture on scientific issues. They are mutually exclusive.

Please don't divide, Nadine. You'll create a bloody mess that someone'll have to mop up.

"... so I don't divide on that merit."

A lot of fundie talk may as well be Chinese, if you ask me. Why can't these numbskulls use standard English instead of trying to dress up their rantings with KJV-speak?

@Jezebel's Evil Sister

But KJV-speak is the new l33t!

"My KJV pwn ur Koran, noob!"

"I stand behind fully capable and professional scientists that sound alot more plausible and in line with scripture imo."

The problem is that, while the scientist may be in line with scripture, the science itself never has been nor will it ever be.

"tossing around scientific lingo doesn't impress me much - I hear both sides going at it and you may as well be speaking in Chinese;"

Generally scientific words are composed of Greek or Latin. Learn some and you might be able to puzzle out what's being talked about fairly easily.

"when nonscientific people hear 2 opposing scientific experts going at it, it doesn't convey one is more correct than the other becuz they are ignorant of the science itself."

So, you don't understand the science and apparently can't fathom how to rectify that gaping hole in your knowledge. Hm...

"Apply Bible text to it, and then some can start making better assessments."

Yes, like the assessment that the Bible doesn't align very well with observed reality. I suspect, however, that isn't the kind of assessment you wanted.

"& some may never know or come to any conclusion.
and that's Ok too."

It's not ok if you're performing science. You generally have to follow the evidence or they take away your lab coat and clip board and toss you out into the unemployment line.

"Thankfully none of us have to know science of any kind to be a born again Christian, so I don't divide on that merit."

True. An understanding of science would probably inhibit that whole "born again" thing.

You are actually saying it is wrong BECAUSE you are ignorant of it.

Really, sometimes I wonder if we need to point out the stupidity.

Yeah, you don't have to know science to be a born again Christian. You're entitled to be a dumbass, it's your right.

Actually, the less you know of anything, the higher your "born again" status.

Gotta love a fundie who brags about how ignorant of science she is(like that's a good thing), then accuses people who disagree with her of being ignorant of science.
