Quote# 31716

There is also exposure in school. My daughter goes to a Christian school (Church of Christ) and she saw The Lion King in pre-K 4 (I wouldn't let her see it because I thought it was too violent and didn't know about the showing until my daughter told me later), and in 1st grade saw the Wizard of Oz (that movie freaked me out at age 10).

Her friend from next door (same age and has an older brother...her father is a preacher) told her last Christmas that there is no Santa Claus and my daughter asked my mother if it were true. My daughter is asking if Santa is real at SIX!!!

Anyway, my point is, it is near impossible to filter out everything that you want to filter out. There is always someone that is exposing them whether they acknowledge it or not. Yet another reason why I am excited about Jesus coming. To save her from all of this worldly things.

Well, heavens! We wouldn't want the little zombie to hear anything that might contradict the brainwashing she's getting at home, would we?

BTW: Does anyone know if there's an emoticon showing someone being slapped hard across the face?

11/29/2007 4:37:38 AM

Oh no! They're showing kids movies for kids nowadays! The horror!!!

I always wonder how these people feel forty years from now, when the imminent arrival of Jesus / happening of the Rapture for some reason still hasn't occurred.

11/29/2007 5:02:11 AM

Oh yes, can't find out Santa's not real because once she's learned you've been lying to her, she'll realize you've been lying about that Jesus guy too.

Incestuous rape of Lot, god-endorsed genocide, slavery and pestilience at every corner, a big graphic story about someone being crucified and returning from the dead, immolation of children as a test of faith, a finale of untold agony and suffering in an apocalyptic bloodbath, with practically everyone being tormented in a lake of fire and burning sulphur?

How lovely

A scarecrow and a cowardly lion following a yellow road?

"(that movie freaked me out at age 10)."
No wonder hes fucked in the head.

11/29/2007 5:28:31 AM

Why are these people having children if they expect them not to live more than a few years (if that)? Why bring such innocence into a world they hate? Is that not one of the most selfish, ugly, abusive and hypocritical things anyone could do?

11/29/2007 5:32:28 AM

I've never understood what these people see as so fantastic about spending eternity singing at God's/Jesus' feet. What is with that? The golden roads and mansions and shit would amuse me for about 5 minutes max. And I'm no good at singing. So (please step in here sane ex-fundies), what the heck is the attraction?

11/29/2007 5:37:19 AM

you were freaked you by wizard of oz? you wuss. Try watching evil dead 2, that'll give you a heart attack

Did you notice that one of the people corrupting her innocent daughter is a preacher's kid?

Doctor Whom

At least you equate belief in God with belief in Santa Claus. More honest than you intended to be, maybe?

Andrew: Being the direct presence of God's glory was supposed to give us a bliss that we couldn't begin to imagine on earth. In other words, we weren't supposed to worry our pretty little heads about the details.

11/29/2007 6:28:41 AM

Oh well. Time for more fundy kids that are as fucked up as their fundy parents.

11/29/2007 7:03:28 AM

unfortunately she's not old enough to accept Jesus properly into her life: she doesn't understand the sacrifice he made for her so can't be properly saved.

If the rapture comes too soon bitch she burns with the rest of us. Enjoy your seat.

11/29/2007 7:26:57 AM

Actually, I was a wussy little kid who was scared by the Wizard of Oz. But that didn't make me think other people shouldn't watch it, and it certainly didn't turn me into a fundie.

Grey Wolf

I've always imagined that Heaven will be more like what is depicted in this one and the following:

Your mileage may vary, of course. Must be a great place, though, given how few ever want to come back. Almost unheard of, in fact.

Hope that helps,

Grey Wolf

Your problem is that you're too gullible and you think that kids are idiot.

11/29/2007 7:41:25 AM

"Anyway, my point is, it is near impossible to filter out everything that you want to filter out."

Fundies, refuse to give their kids critical thinking filters because that would filter out their own beliefs,

so they try to filter out all of reality instead.

A clue: If your beliefs were real, you wouldn't need to shield them from reality.

David B.

Yes, older siblings like to be the one to break the 'bad news'.

Point is, when were you going to tell her that Santa Claus, the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy are all make-believe? And why should she believe your stories of God and Jesus afterwards?

11/29/2007 9:26:12 AM

I'm surprised that Santa Claus has not been equated with the Demon of Commercial Abuse of Jesus' Birthday.

11/29/2007 9:39:49 AM

JenGC, lemme tell you something about Santa Claus... You might wanna sit down for this...

11/29/2007 9:52:16 AM

Then throw her in the fucking basement. The rapture is coming soon so why bother with school?
