[RE: a post stating that children of unbelievers may not be raptured]

Oh man! I am sure some of you guys know that I have been struggling with the idea of adoption. After the Middle East summit and many saying that within a year we might be raptured. I kept having a feeling of urgency to start the adoption but then I thought "it really won't matter though. The child will be raptured anyway" due to the idea that all children under the age of accountability will be raptured.

If this is true, then I am DEFINITELY getting this thing going.

Other than the whole "within a year we might be raptured" bit, I think this is not very fundie. The poster hears that children might not be automatically raptured, so he/she plans to hurry out and acquire a child, in order to save it from eternal damnation.

The Duelist

Not very Fundy, but then, adopting a child solely to save it's soul from Satan sounds a little weird...

And again: The "age of accountability" isn't a Biblical concept, it's a societal idea and varies within cultures.

Your Bible says we're born sinful.
Maybe you should read it sometime

Children of unbelievers tend to be unbelievers themselves. You don't see Christians raising their kids as Hindus, do you?

As a three time adoptive father, I applaud your willingness to consider adopting.

Just one thing though: when you have your interview with your social worker at the beginning of the process, you might not want to mention that you are doing this just so a child could get swept up into heaven.

I REALLY hope this idiot's adoption application is rejected.

On a couple readings I'm worried

They can adopt and feed this delusion to children, whoms worlds has already been altered and will accept change again.

They can do anything they want to these children as the children are innocent and they are the masters of their children (lot of sick shit possible in the "never disobey, disrespect or speak against thy mother or father" doctrines in fundamentalism)

They will pass this desire for reality to end on. This ridiculous dogma will continue producing more and more hypocritical losers who vote Republican most the time.
