Evolution is falling apart today. The theory of evolution is crumbling in the face of total lack of evidence. However, you might not hear about it because many people in this world simply find the only alternative to evolution, a divine creator, completely and totally unacceptable. If we were talking about any other subject, evolution would have been abandoned long ago, but atheists do not want to believe in God so they must believe in evolution by default, regardless of the fact that it does not have one leg to stand on. If evolution is a lie, then there is God. There is a moral standard. There is accountability for your actions.

And, the good fairy is spreading pixie dust everywhere, and pigs are flying and it's snowing in hell, and there are 2 blue moons this month, huh?
Yes, the instinct humanity has to find some easy, supernatural explanation for all those pesky questions they have, surely that's forcing them to hold on to the rational yet complex explanation, rather than accept the easy and supernatural one.
Makes perfect sense.
This sounds like that Iraqi information minister in the days before they found Saddam.
"We are slaughtering them! They don't stand a chance! Ohh man, one of our guys just killed like 50 of them with a dull spoon!"
No matter how much you talk like that, it won't change reality.
"Religion is falling apart today. God is crumbling in the face of total lack of evidence. However, you might not hear about it because many people in this world simply find the only alternative to religion, evolution, completely and totally unacceptable. If we were talking about any other subject, religion would have been abandoned long ago, but fundies do not want to believe in science so they must believe in an invisible force by default, regardless of the fact that it does not have one leg to stand on. If religion is a lie, then there is science. There still is a moral standard, just not one dictated to you and followed out of fear. There still will be accountability for your actions.
Fixed
Nope, you don't hear it because, outside fundy circles, it just don't happen. There is evidence and, since I think you haven't picked a science book or attended a lecture on the topic, you're not aware of that.
Yes, there is NO evidence for evolution or anything. Not any transitional forms or logic behind it, no way. And IT MUST be evolution or the Christian God. No possible alternatives at all!
Idiot. In case you couldn't tell, I was being sarcastic.
I, for one, believe strongly in a divine creator. I am glad you agree. Let us praise the Invisible Pink Unicorn. Bless Her Holy Hooves, fellow worshiper!
Someone's faith is extremely shaky if they regard a simply-stated scientific theory as a threat. Anon's weak argument is that rationalists have abandoned everything that Christianity is supposed to stand for.
Not quite. When it comes to moral standards, the Abrahamic one is a misanthropic failure. The "law of the land" accommodates humanity as it really is, instead of simply demanding that all people be Levites.
Ask a convicted criminal about accountability, btw.
"NOTHING that is here said can apply, even with the most distant
disrespect, to the real character of Jesus Christ. He was a virtuous
and an amiable man. The morality that he preached and practiced was of the most benevolent kind; and though similar systems of morality
had been preached by Confucius, and by some of the Greek
philosophers, many years before, by the Quakers since, and by many
good men in all ages, it has not been exceeded by any." -- Thomas Paine, The Age of Reason , 1796
If evolution is a lie, then there is God
How does this follow? Even if the universe was created rather than evolved, that still wouldn't show that it was created by God, that there was only one creator, that the creator was still alive or that the creator did anything else. Creationism points to the Flying Spaghetti Monster just as well as it does to the Christian God.
Furthermore, evolution doesn't mean no God. God could have created evolution just as well as each individual species. In fact, He'd be a lot smarter if He did it that way, because life would be self-adjusting.

I am likewise intrigued, as evolutions discrediting does nothing to support creationism (and would be a strong blow against my belief in the christian god).
"The theory of evolution is crumbling in the face of total lack of evidence."
No, that would be the bible.
Evolution is falling apart like christianity is coming to humanism. Lack of evidence, it's laughable, but there's only lack of evidence to a fundy who has absolutely refused to look at the evidence. Yes, there is a moral standard, but it has nothing to do with the concept of a god or gods, or religion. And even if there's a small, minute chance that evolution is wrong, then that does not automatically mean that there is a god. And even if it does, which god? Yours? I doubt it. He's too much of a childish prick and jackass to be worthy of worship.
Creationism is falling apart today. The theory of special creation is crumbling in the face of total lack of evidence. However, you might not hear about it because many people in this world simply find the only alternative to creationism, evolution, completely and totally unacceptable. If we were talking about any other subject, creationism would have been abandoned long ago, but theists want to believe in God so they must believe in creationism by default, regardless of the fact that it does not have one leg to stand on. If creationism is a lie, then there is no God. There is no absolute moral standard. There is no divine accountability for your actions.
One of the easiest fixes ever. Find and replace.
Why this hatred of evolution? Evolution does not say anything about how the Universe came about. It just explains the observable process for diversity in nature.
Shouldn't the Creationists attack abiogenesis or the Big Bang, instead?
We don't "believe" in evolution, evolution is a fact, therefore no belief is required. Most Christians and other religious people take evolution for granted, only a small cluster of fundamentalists Christians, Jews and Muslims refuse to.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
