But we are persecuting you. After all, we're not slavishly following everything you say, and to you, that's the same thing as persecuting you, isn't it?

Thinking you're an intolerant, bigoted, holier-than-thou, hypocritical jerk who tries to stick his nose into other peoples' business and force his beliefs on other people does not equal persecution.
So what your saying is, if your extremist brand of Christianity really DID become the belief system of everybody in the entire world, you'd STILL have to find hairs to split so you could be at each others' throats, because otherwise you wouldn't be "persecuted"?
Personally I don't approve of persecution of anyone.
That said, if I were persecuting you you would know all about it. It would be an unpleasant experience, and you wouldn't be able to bitch about it in public either. The men with nightsticks would be knocking on your door at 3 am to drag you and your family off to concentration camps and make you work your arse off on a starvation diet until you dropped of hunger and exhaustion.
As it is, you are living a fantasy. But somehow fantasies can become reality. So beware. It is not wise to wish for something as it can come true.
Now for an example of real persecution you might consider Muslims being made to eat pork, being forced to be naked (men) in front of women, being water-boarded, being jailed without trial... None of this happening to you fundies that I am aware of. So get real and on your knees to thank yo' Lawd for all you have - you have the US government in your pocket for starters, and the country is on the way to being a theocracy run by ayatollah-like preachers. Some state of persecution indeed!

Jesus needs some new followers in the US, this current batch is a bunch of whiney weinies that wouldn't survive one minute without selling out under real persecution in a foreign country under real dangers instead of the fantasy threats they have to invent in the world's most "fundie friendly country". What an embarassment you must be to your God!
