(Gov. Huckabee, candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, speaking at the Southern Baptist Convention in Salt Lake City.)

He's coming to my university tomorrow. I am seriously considering going and blasting him with questions about his anti-gay stance and his fundieness. Except that:
(1) I'm already busy as fuck.
(2) I have class.
(3) I don't want to turn into another "Don't Taze Me Bro" guy.
By the way, for the last 20 years the Religious Right has been running the show. And look where we are now.
For yet another video game reference, since the religious right is so prominent it makes Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri's factions, particularly the Believers, seem a bit more than realistic.
And that is why all Christians should be for this man
Fortunately, not all Christians in this country are nearly as wet for a Theocracy as you, IFBaptist Girl.

If you're holy specced, you wanna try healing my tankadin in a Heroic Mechanar run? I need to get him 15 Badges of Justice for his Libram -- it's the last piece of gear he needs before he'll become Uncrushable against raid bosses.

On some issues that are near and dear to my heart, he does think that government has the best answer -- or would, if he were running it.
IFBaptist Girl: If you want to live in a country whose leaders have hearts for God, what stops you from emigrating to Iran or Saudi Arabia?
And I went into auto repair because I knew that those damn secular "mechanics" with their "engineering" didn't have the answers. But, for some reason, my feng shui auto repair shop went out of business.
(I can only hope Huckabee will be out of business in a year, also.)
America is bedevilled by Gawd!
France, OTOH has a totally secular system. No religion has any place in the political life of the country since 1905. And it works very well.
But then Europe is a godless place, Thank God!
Could it be that America ison the verge of becoming an Theocracy, with Ayatollahs ordering the stoning of those who disagree with them; men going round wearing white robes with long conical headgear and masks to enforce the will of the Ayatollahs - Phelps, Robertson etc.
And then they get their hands on the nukes... Instant Rapture!
This is the man who: "when he was governor of Arkansas in the 90s, Huckabee pushed for the release of Wayne Dumond, a convicted rapist. This was despite a number of Dumond's victims writing to him personally - including one who had been raped at knifepoint while her three-year-old daughter slept beside her. Huckabee was apparently more moved by the right-wing tabloid campaign waged in Dumond's favour, and his influence helped to release the rapist 25 years early. Dumond went on to rape and murder one woman, and died in prison as charges were being brought against him for the rape and murder of yet another."

Hmmm.
@ Xotan
There will not be a Theocracy in America until my rifle barrel is melted and un-useable, my bayonet is snapped off in someones skull, my .45s firing pin is worn down and I have bled every last drop of blood. It wouldn't be the first time I fought religious fanatics and I somehow think that the Taliban and initial insurgents in Fallujah had much more of a desire to end me than these hick mother fuckers do.
And just one for Fanatic-Templar....Skulls for the skull throne! LoL
@Ranger Joe
You guys are welcome up here in Canada! :)
@IFBaptist Girl
This makes me so glad that candidates up here aren't graded on how godly they are. Up here we go by what really matters. Who's gonna screw you the least.
Well, I won't argue that an America that turned the other cheek, sought peace and pursued it, gave everything it had to the poor of the world and where everyone was meek and humble wouldn't make for a better world.
But somehow I doubt that's what Huck, IFBG and her ilk think that's what Christ would want them to do. Bible not withstanding.
@ NonProphet
State government...?
Geez, Americans are really well on the way to destroying everything their Founding Fathers stood for, and becoming a second class xtian theocracy! Wasn't that f**kwit Bush enough? Are you really going to be electing another moron?
It is really sad to watch, and I sincerely hope that that religious virus that seems to infect the majority of Americans doesn't bleed to other liberal western (secular) democracies and destroy them as well.
Dark ages part II, anyone??
Come now, come now everyone. No matter how frightening these people are, we haven't entered the dark ages until there's book burning and a massive collapse of infrastructure. I won't say it's looking good, but we're not on the doorstep of a second dark age... Probably.
Huckabee's a religious fanatic but he'll say the same stuff at a goverment speech that he'll say at a church assembly.
Not like Gingrach, Rumsfeld, Cheney or Palin who at secular speechs will all talk about defending the constitution for the people and at their church speechs will talk about changing it to better suit the Bible.
Basically his ad-campaign goes a little something like this...
MIKE HUCKABEE FOR THEOCRACY IN AMERICA
Pass...
(seriously, fuck that guy)
Sorry for you, then, that Jesus Christ rejected you. Or at least the American electorate did, long before the finishing line.
There's some hope yet. Now please don't spoil it by electing Romney.
Confused?
