[Is having an eating disorder a sin?]
One of my older sisters had eating disorder(s) for all of her adult life. It began while she lived in a college dorm. I would suggest that at the root of the eating disorder, there is sin. Go back to the beginning and look for the impetus or reason that it began, there you will probably discover sin.
My sister is dead now, and while I loved her dearly, with my understanding of the Word, I don't expect to see her in heaven.

Is having influenza a sin? Is having a headache?
You can't ever have loved your sister, you heartless bitch. You are so sure of your own self-righteousness at her expense. What a Pharisee you are! Who are you to put a limit on the mercy and love of the God YOU claim exists? You are so full of your own sense of how good YOU are that you can't see that you must really be posessed by the Demon of Hypocrisy.
Go get some exorcism.
The ironic thing is eating disorders are really mental disorders, just like being a fundie.

That makes more sense to me than anyone will ever know

Then your God is a cunt. Why you even want to worship such a bastard is quite beyond me.

"Liberalism is a precondition of cultural health. Liberalism provides for the flourishing of science. Absolutist positions, whether rooted in religious or secular ideology, lead to totalitarianism. Call it the Taliban, call it Stalinism, call it creationism, call it the Spanish Inquisition, any mindset that believes it alone has the truth and damns all opposition to hell, is the enemy of the free society. As someone once said, we need seekers after the truth, but protection from anyone who is dead certain he's found it."
Thanks for that site. The above quote from it says it all. If fundies had their way America would be heading back into the Dark Ages and civilization would wither.
Perhaps it is time after all to go on the offensive against the ignorance and backwardness of fundamentalism. But this is difficult when one of the political parties is hand in glove with such stultification. Sadly I see America being left behind and intellectual and scientific progress, not to mention wealth and progress moving more towards Europe.
Fundamentalism is self-destruction. Posts such as Tall Timber's just seem to confirm my thinking. :-(

Well DUH, because YOU won't be there. Right, stoat100 ?
Well, sure - the sin was her trying to learn! After all she was in college, right? Naturally, the Loving Jaysus righteously smote her sinful ass.
See the post by Ezeke316; smarties have a hard time with Gawda.
So, the same applies to all epileptics, depressive or sick people. Wow!!, you never know which role plays free will here.
I completely agree with Sevagram. I've thought that so many times and I still haven't worked it out. The only answer I can come up with is fear. But that, IMO, is still not a reason to genuinely worship anyone.
The real question is if she died in her sins? If she recieved Jesus as her personnal savior, she will be in heaven.
Unfortunately for her though, all signs indicate that if she had Jesus in her life, she wouldn't have had that eating thingamahjob. Illness is chiefly caused by demonic presence. So yea, she's probably burning in unspeakable agony for all of eternity.
Praise Jesus.

I take it she didn't survive exorcism?
Maybe she was possessed by a demon?
Because you people either say it's someone's fault for sinning, or it's not their fault because they were possessed..
The milk jug answers prayers in the form of "yes", "no", or "wait"....
I thought starving yourself was meant to be quite pious...
or did she have the gluttony 'disorder'?
When I hear cunts like this gloating about the afterlife, I feel pangs sometimes that there isn't one and they wont ever get the shock of their tiny little putrid lives when they get marked.
Wow...where to start...
First, An Eating disorder is caused by psychological stress, usually of trying to live up to an example of an unreachable goal *cough*Jesus*cough*. Just because you are suffering with something does not make you a sinner, it makes you SICK and you need more help then a bunch of bald dudes sprinkling oil on your head.
It is no more of a sin then homosexu-
Oh nevermind...

As a former psychiatric nurse, she'd probably say you're a delusional twat who's projecting their own insane religious 'beliefs' on someone else who should be left alone to sort out her own emotional problems. And suggest 20mg Risperdal every eight hours for you.
"My sister is dead now"
And with that attitude of yours, you're probably the reason why.
"[Is having an eating disorder a sin?]"
Obviously not, otherwise would so many fundies be so fucking obese?
Fuck.
I've been with (don't know how) with three women who have had serious fucking problems with eating disorders. One of them is dead. It's not just a "funny phase where people stop eating/start puking/do stuff to be thin", it's a living hell with serious psychological problems, and these people need love, help and support.
Please, if you don't know shit about X, LEARN about X.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
