What's the problem? I thought evolutionists believed in survival of the fittest.

Right but survival of the fittest replies to being most fit to your environment, which means not dying before you can pass on your genetics. It says nothing about going out of your way to kill people.

Survival of the fittest =! Survival of the most insane

Evolutionary adaptation != murder, stupid.

Yes through adaptation. What he did was heat of the moment and decided that because the couple believed differently, that it was allright to kill them. I wonder if the situation was reversed, would your attitude still be that

Well, uh, with this thing humans have called LAW, killing a person would actually make one LESS likely to reproduce.

It only would work if he ate him after he killed him!

Since when is survival of the fittest a MORAL law?

12/16/2007 11:12:05 PM

And I thought Christians believed in "Love your neighbor".

And Jesus said unto them "That which you do unto the least of my bretheren so you do unto me"
Seems like the fundies need a Bible lesson

For Whom The Bell Tolls

SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST DOES NOT WORK THAT WAY!

anti-nonsense

"survival of the fittest" isn't meant to be a moral law. Also, murder doesn't necessarily mean the murderer is more evolutionarily fit then the victim.

You know, it IS possible to understand that natural selection occurs and still have compassion and a conscience... and a man being stabbed to death in a debate about evolution isn't even an example of natural selection, so go fuck yourself.

We also believe societies thrive when the unintelligent, intolerant and rash don't make the decisions.

And I thought christians believed in thou shall not kill.
Also, survival of the fittest is about the creature that adapts to changing climate faster than the others.

Xianity defined by fuck-wit fundies. Evolution likewise

Survival of the ones who best fit the niche in question. That's the kind of fitness we are talking about, stupid! And we are talking Natural selection; the ones who survive long enough to produce offspring and spread their genes to a new generation.

And I thought "Thou shall not kill" was one of the commandments you idiots are supposed to swear by?
