[In response to a post about an English Christian killing a Scottish scientist in Australia over an evolution argument, then had a stupidly light sentence]
As a Christian he has a clear sense of morality and will know that what he has done is wrong. That is not necessarily true of a Darwinist who just has borrowed morality that can change with the wind. For that reason a Christian criminal should receive a lighter sentence than an unbeliever.
...
You pick this out to show that Christians are favored in the court room, but look at how creation scientists have been persecuted by the American government. Kent Hovind is the obvious example; he was given ten years in prison for a fictional crime. In truth this was yet another attempt to shut up those who go against Darwinist dogma.

Kent Hovind was not persecuted by the scientific community for his beliefs (though he was laughed at). He was prosecuted by the legal community for criminal tax evasion.
Get over it, your scoundrel has a new "boyfriend" now.
It is not true that this "Christian criminal" has a clear sense of morality, he wouldn't have killed like this in the first place if he had.
Kent Hovind is just a fucktard. Only deluded fools take anything he says seriously.
Funny, according to the bible you and he profess to believe in, he should be put to death.
Not another example of a Christian disregarding their own holy book when what it says becomes a tad inconvenient?! Look, we have more than enough evidence of your hypocrisy thanks, could you try sticking to your beliefs for a change? We're damn short of examples of that !
Pity this Christian's "clear sense of morality" didn't prevent him from murdering someone in the first place. What sort of example is that for the rest of us amoral unbelievers?
Although it would make a good advertising gimmick: "Become a Christian and get a lighter sentence for serious crimes."
As a Christian he has a clear sense of morality and will know that what he has done is wrong
Yup the whole thou shall not kill thing.
Kent Hovind is the obvious example; he was given ten years in prison for a fictional crime.
He didn't pay his taxes. Fictional crime my ass.
"As a Christian he has a clear sense of morality..."
Bullshit.
"That is not necessarly true of a Darwinist...."
More bullshit.
"Kent Hovid is the obvious example' he was given ten years in prision for a fictional crime."
Unbelievable bullshit.
He questions the basis of the "Darwinist's" morality, and maintains that the Christian who stuck a knife in him has "a cleasr sense of morality." To a True Believer this incident was sort of an "Ooops, my bad."
What the french, toast? He violates the 10C's in a bloody act of barbarism and you justify it because the victim was an "unbeliever"?
Oh, it's okay in your world view because the murderer can just say a few magic words and Jesus lets him off the hook, right?
Pay attention! The murderer removed his victim's free will by the act of murder. That's the height of blasphemy.
Actually, if you have strong morals, you should have a heavier sentence, the same way insane people get a lighter sentence because they don't know what they're doing.
"For that reason a Christian criminal should receive a lighter sentence than an unbeliever"
Actually, by your 'reasoning'(hahahahahaha... ahem, continuing on) by your reasoning the christian should have gotten a heavier sentence because he knew that murder was wrong, where as the "Darwinist"(insert more laughter here) doesn't know the difference between right from wrong, so he would get the shorter sentence, because he didn't know murder was wrong.
But yeah, this guy is a tosser.
What Rhys said.
You pick this out to show that Christians are favored in the court room, but look at how creation scientists have been persecuted by the American government.
So why isn't Ken Ham locked up behind bars then? More to the point, why hasn't Fred Phelps been locked up and had his key thrown away?
First, murdering someone over an argument concerning science vs. belief shows that the convicted has NO sense of morality.
Second, there's no such thing as a "Darwinist." Acceptance of evolutionary theory is not a religion, despite what you nutters say.
Third, atheists have morals that stem from survival of the species and civilization. It's fundies that have a shifting moral compass.
And fourth, didn't Kent Hovind admit to not paying taxes in the courtroom? Something about how he didn't have to pay because all the cash going into his own pocket was "God's money"?
Maybe you should learn something about reality, instead of relying on fundie sites for your skewed misinformation.
What the hell? If you know that you've done wrong, you should be punished more, not less, than if you don't.
As an evolutionist, you automatically have a clearer sense of morality and will know what you had done is wrong. That is not necessarily true of a Christian who is only moral because his God tells him so. For that reason a non-believing criminal should receive a lighter sentence then a believer.
...
You pick this out to show that creationsists are stupid, and will be punished for it. Kent Hovind is the obvious example; he was given ten years in prison for a fictional crime. In truth this was yet another attempt to shut up those who try to preach church dogma.
Fixed it.
Now that that's been done...
"Creation scientist" is an oxymoron, dumbass :P
Confused?
