No way, I'm only voting for a candidate that stands for a return to christian values - no abortion ever, return to prayer in schools (not MORMON prayers either), religious freedoms for christians again, etc. Personally, I think everyone should be required to join a church, but people think I'm old fashion when I say that.

I see, so it's Hitler in '08 for you then?
(Damn, look at me jumping on the Godwin train right out of the gate!)
Christians don't have religious freedom? You're sent to jail if caught going to church? Federal agents are searching people for crosses or bibles and throwing anyone found with one into jail?
Wow, I didn't know that was happening.
Oh, wait, you mean you don't have religious freedom if you can't force everyone to join a church that you approve of.
Oh, I don't think you're old-fashioned. I think you're an evil, anti-American, dictatorial, stupid piece of shit. But I don't think you're old-fashioned.
"Personally, I think everyone should be required to join a church, but people think I'm old fashion when I say that."
Yeah, so old-fashioned you're aligned with all the theocracies that the settlers fled across the ocean to get away from, so old-fashioned ou're completely at odds with every constitution of every modern democratic country
Of course, you old-fashionedly misunderstand "freedom of religion" to "freedom to impose a religion". It implies freedom to be religious or not and choose, freely, which religion you wanna profess in case you want to. And if prayer is allowed, the prayers of mormons are covered too. That's another old-fashion misconception. Freedom of religion is for everybody, not the freedom for your religion only.
Personally I would've thought you'd prefer not to legally require everyone to join a church since that'd guarantee your church would be full of people who didn't actually believe and were just mouthing the words out of fear of prison rape but hey, I guess it's not about beliefs anymore is it ?? It's just a sort of tribal thing, you've picked your team and you just want them to win dontcha ?? Who cares if the new regulations have caused your Religion to rot from the inside, you're on the winning team, you're a member of the biggest and most powerful tribe and that's all that counts.
Religious freedoms for christians.
Sociopolitical domination by christians.
Taliban-style suppression by christians.
Torture, burning, and other acts of terror by christians.
The USA doesn't work that way. Go to Iran.
You sell yourself too short. What about eliminating democratic elections, having a president for a lifelong term, and the removal of the atheist threat by deporting them back to Europe.
You don't have to hide your intentions, we're all very aware of them.
not old fashioned, we think you are just a worthless piece of shit, like your ideas are, and your fellow fundies are.
Hell, why stop there? Why not burn all the Mormon churches, and Mosques and what have you? And then you can have women wear clothes that obliterate any figure they may have, and stone any that show so much as an ankle. And you can stone those durned queers too, while you're at it. Why, this is starting to sound a touch familiar to me, how about you?
" (not MORMON prayers either), "
Of course not, since the real religion is islam.
The Holy Procrastinationist Church is accepting acolytes. We will discuss having a membership meeting any day now. We're also thinking of spaghetti dinner. I'm thinking, once that rapture thing clears up the landscape, we can move.
We'll let you know.
Nah, I don't think you're old fashion, I think you're a myopic pinhead.
Change your name to "Free_From_Thought."

@ Tomby Stone: Blessed be, brother in Christ! I'm glad to finally have another person that understands our religion on this heathen website. Keep the faith and I'll be praying for you.
@ Gigaguess: I like your ideas, but you're a woman, right? You ought to keep those ideas to yourself and let your husband pray and advice you about them. I'm sure you keep a lovely house, but polatics is man's work. Remember, women have dominion in the laundry room and kitchen, but men have the rest of the world.
Now, now, you have to share your religious freedom with the other children. After all, you have so freaking much of it.
"No way, I'm only voting for a candidate that stands for a return to MY values - no abortion ever, return to MY prayer in schools (not MORMON prayers either), religious freedoms for ME, etc. Personally, I think everyone should be required to join MY church, but people think I'm old-fashioned a holier-than-thou bigot when I say that."
There. Fixed.
It's not illegal to have prayer in school.
It's illegal to force people to pray, not to mention to a god that they don't believe in.
@Big Chicken Dinner: "Polatics" may be man's work, but what about politics?
@GigaGuess: Feel free to respond to BCD's comment, I just saw a shot so I took it.
"...return to prayer in schools (not MORMON prayers either), religious freedoms for christians again, etc."
Nice definition of religious freedom you've got there. [/sarcasm]
At least Freed_From_Sin is honest. "religious freedoms FOR CHIRSTIANS"
I always wondered how fundies can cry persecution whenever they feel that their religious freedom is being violated but at the same time long for a theocracy with no religious freedom for anybody else. How could they reconcile the two?
Apparently, they don't. They have no qualms with claiming that "religious freedom" is only for Christians.
Which isn't free at all, really. "You're free to be whatever you like, as long as it's a slave!"
“Yes, the long war on Christianity. I pray that one day we may live in an America where Christians can worship freely! In broad daylight! Openly wearing the symbols of their religion... perhaps around their necks? And maybe - dare I dream it? - maybe one day there can be an openly Christian President. Or, perhaps, 43 of them. Consecutively.”
Jon Stewart
I would join in the "Move to Iran"
But Freed from Sin wouldn't like Iran, even they have more freedom than what FFS dreams off.
Saudi Arabia is more this style.
Personally, I think everyone should be required to join a church, but people think I'm old fashion when I say that.
Yeah, just like those fun-loving witchburners.
If you seriously think that this will automatically stop abortions in the USA, I think you need a dose of reality pills. Women will still have abortions, but they'll be in secret like before. I don't think anyone should have an abortion-I think birth control should be freely available to everyone, and you can decide whether to take it or not. But if the USA just outlaws abortions and doesn't, say, automatically extend free birth control to everyone at the same time, instead of persecuting people for abortions you'd be persecuting them for throwing babies in dumpters. Would you, fundamentalists, consider this more of a crime than abortian?

Fixed. I knew there was something amiss. Honestly, these folks will look great through a scope some day. Fucking fascists.
Oh........you're...a...gay?
Well, as long as you are one of the boy gays, I suppose talking in public is alright. That's biblical enough for a man to be letting his opinion known - as long as it agrees with the bible.
Speaking of biblical, since you brought it up, you know that the gay is against the LORD's plans? You should know that, if you didn't.
Well Jesus is a special case. Who's to say that part of your heavenly reward isn't your own disco filled with strapping young lads? It even says that in the bible (Cor 34:12)
Now, Jesus was a man, but he was also the LORD. So he was probably indulging because that's what he was used to in heaven. Get it?
People don't think you're old fashioned when you say everyone should be required to join a church. They think you are barking mad, and they're dead right at that.
Of course, barking mad is virtually a must for posting on Rupture Retards anyway.
Move to Saudi Arabia; you'd like it there. Well, except for the "Christian" thing, that is.
But hey, you'll be required to join a church, or as they call them there, a mosque.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
