The bible says not to eat pork in the old testament and then in the new testament it says that you can eat anything. That isnt a contradiction, as they happened at different times and a change was made.

Malachi 3:6 “I the LORD do not change . So you, O descendants of Jacob, are not destroyed.”
James 1:17 “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.”
Numbers 23:19 “God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should change His mind . Does He speak and then not act? Does He promise and not fulfill?”
What were you saying about God changing his mind? I love when you guys don't read your own book.

Isn't the whole point of the New Testament that God does become a man and "a son of man?" Just saying.
So what you are saying is that the laws given to nomadic tribes are different from those appropriate for late Iron-age early city-dwellers, right? Then why is it so impossible for you to accept that THOSE laws might be different from the laws that are appropriate for today's high-tech, ultra-urban, mechanized, computerized civilization?
You fucking idiot. The NT doesn't say anything like that. Eating pork was allowed by the pope when Germania was christianized, because the people there wouldn't let go of it (and would have starved without it, too.) Around the same time, Christmas was put at its date to keep "christianized" pagans from celebrating Yule that day.

Do you cut your hair? Wear poly-cotton clothes? Work on a Saturday? Yes? In that case...
You fundies forfeit the right to criticise homosexuals in any way, shape or form. In perpetuity.
...what's that? If you had to, it would deny you a vital source of right-wing indignation? Okay then. But in that case:

And as the Bible doesn't mention computers, better throw yours away, miguelmorales. Can't have your cake and eat it. But then, like the cake, the Bible is a lie .
--EDIT--
Clicking on the quote link, it comes up 'The page cannot be displayed'. Hmmmm. Methinks other members of GameFAQs handed miguelmorales his arse on precisely this point, so he requested the admin/mods lock & delete the thread, to salvage some modicum of pride out of the trainwreck that was his bullshit. But the quote lives on here in FSTDT.
And will continue to be logically annihilated too.
So...you're saying that some things in the Bible should only be applied in the context of when it was written, then, and not taken as immutable, unchanging fiat?
Answer carefully Miguel.
Confused?
