It's not entirely Darwin's theory they believed in; it was also mixed with Hitler's version of eugenics, which has little in common with actual evolution. Besides, they were INSANE. Madmen use weird justification all the time.

Hollywood doesn't "rebel against God," especially not intentionally. Furthermore, nobody worships the award. They covet it. There's a difference.
