Quote# 32884

Today, Christian couples self-righteously and self-assuredly limit the size of their families based on the unbiblical values and principles of Margaret Sanger and the free love movement she promoted. Are you willing to separate from 95% of your fundamentalist brothers and sisters in Christ who are involved in this sin?

Dr. Quasius

That's right ladies; have babies until your uterus falls out!

Do it for God.

Our Godly duty is to outbreed all other species into extinction.

95% of people?. Are you sure that the policy "all people are stupid but me" is going to work here?

12/27/2007 8:43:29 PM

Mister Spak

I prefer 100%.

Old Viking

Is he saying that 95% of fundies limit the size of their families? That True Christian™ Award is getting harder and harder to come by.

Quiverful nutjob....

Snopester in Exile

Does it actually say birth control is wrong in the bible? Or is that just something fundies have made up over the years?

12/27/2007 10:10:53 PM

@Snopester in Exile: they base it on passages that say the Lord is the one who opens and closes the womb.

So in Paul Barber's world, children are sent from God, the sole purpose of sex within marriage is to create children, couples who are Christian will engage in conjugal relations irrespective of timing of ovulation, and will raise as many children as God sees fit to give them, whether it's one or twenty one. It's also called "Providentialism." It doesn't take into account the health of the mother, or the financial situation of the couple.

Quiverfull advocates strive to be R-strategy organisms.

Tsk tsk... being self-righteous is a sin, or did you skip over that part of your bible?

12/27/2007 10:31:46 PM

Jeez, it's not like it's their own bodies or anything. Selfish parents.

Yes. Because the global population has reached 6 billion. It's time to slow down.

We're running out of room.

And humans don't stack very well.

It's too bad the people who follow that are the conservative ones.

They're stocking up politically, it's scary.

But did anyone ever think that in today's world, the reasons behind those parts of the Bible being written no longer apply?

Yes. Yes I am.

Paulie, hon...if you want to separate yourself from all the world, be my guest! I'm not going to snobbishly shun someone just because s/he doesn't have a living carpet of kids!
