Quote# 33067

Following the Rapture, the majority of people will believe that all the "true christians" were left behind and only the "kooky" ones were taken. This will lay a foundation for the formation of the false "church" in the first half of the Tribuation, which will probably be very liberal and "tolerant" in its doctrines.

Anyone who chooses to embrace the true Gospel of those "kooky christians" that were raptured, will be persecuted and hated.

Following the Rapture, the majority of people will believe that all the "true christians" were left behind and only the "kooky" ones were taken.

If all the critical, hate-filled, holier-than-thou, God-bothering bigots suddenly disappeared, and only the regular church-goers who quietly follow their faith and try to live up to "love your neighbor as yourself" were left behind, this wouldn't be an unreasonable assumption.

If only...

Yes, it would be nice if the hateful bigots were raptured out of here.

But it's a mute point anyway, YOU'VE BEEN STOOD UP!

You know, most people just spank it to porn, Syd. It's a little more... normal. Revenge fantasies are immature.

Why would it matter to you? You'll be in heaven with Jeebus and the rest of us will have to fix the world you helped ruin.

1/1/2008 5:21:31 PM

Since only a handful of crackpots will disappear, if your doctrine is taken to the letter, the rest of the world will carry on as if nothing had happened.

You asshat, 144,000 is the number of the "elect." Do the fucking math: what percentage of 6.5 billion is 144,000? (I'll give you a hint; it's around the same value as your IQ)

144,000 people could disappear tomorrow, and no one would ever even notice.

For all you know, the rapture already happened, and YOU were left behind.

The "kooky christians" will be left behind. God doesn't like truth-pimps, attention whores, or brown-nosers.

The 'true' believers (and everyone else for that matter) will ascend.

Maybe the "true(?)" Christians who actually read the Bible will attend your funeral after you die waiting with the rest of your arrogant self-righteous "Kooky cult" for some fanciful death myth that has nothing to do with Scripture or reality.

The world of the post-Rapture sounds so nice. No hate fulled fundies, a single globe spanning church based on liberalism and tolerance, maybe God can Rapture the Islamic fundies too so we can have a shot at peace in the Middle-East as well.

John pretty much said it.

Um, cool cats...moot point.

The rapture happened, on schedule, in 1914. The only true Christians were taken up into heaven. Nobody noticed that the two of them were missing.

No, following the Rapture, as if it were going to happen, the majority of people will be driving your empty cars and celebrating the absence of you. Wheeeee!

So the rapture has already happened and you are the remanent who thinks it's the real church? You've just cut yourself out of heaven forever!

No, only atheists will be raptured.

If God would have wanted people to believe in him, he would have made his existence absolutely clear. Instead he chose to make the world look like he doesn't exist to those who aren't either blind or trying real hard to fool themselves. All the religions make baseless assumptions and more or less contradict reality, each other and even themselves. They were only created to mislead people from not believing in God. The real God only wants people who do not believe fairytales are real, even if those tales are about him. He has not revealed himself, so you are not supposed to believe in him nor his existence. I'm sorry, but I have to warn you about the grave danger you are in: repent now and turn away from the sin of baseless faith or you are going to be scrapped.

See, I'm trying really hard, but your version still makes less sense than mine.

Liberal. Tolerant. That would be more heavenly than any heaven you can imagine, Sydney. But no one will be persecuted and hated because the persecutors and haters won't be here.

Maybe this has already happened.

I'm fed up with the Rapture Ready crowd. It's such a provincial American Bible Belt thing, no-one outside that region actually believes in such a half-wit, demented nineteenth-century cult anyway.

Betcha I win the lottery long before your rapture happens. After all, the odds are in my favour.

Liberal and tolerant? You mean like Jesus?

1/1/2008 10:51:39 PM

Oh no! Not tolerance! That will only lead to the acceptance of homosexuals, respect for women, and aid for the poor!

It'll be Hell on earth I tells ya!

HELL ON EARTH!

Funny, we can agree on one thing: fundies think the rapture would make the world a better place by setting the way for Christ's return.

I think it would make the world a better place for another reason.

Hey, I wonder if this fruitcake realises that shelby corbitt's prediction came true (http://www.2007rapture.com/) and all the fundies walking around now were actually left behind...
