WHAT other evidence of the \"reality of Genesis\"?
I'm not refusing to believe any such evidence; I'm simply unaware of any physical evidence to support Genesis that actually exists.

There's external evidence for Genesis? Produce. Now. If it's good enough, I might just convert.
Also, if the Ark were ever found, I would want to be in on the dig. Greatest discovery of the millennium much?

IF the Ark was ever found, that would be a bit of the evidence of the existence of God, that we have been asking for. We might reconsider.
"evidence of the actual reality of Genesis"? Where?
I bet there alreday are fake pieces of wood from the Ark sold somewhere.

What would happen if people actually found evidence of evolution?
Oh wait, they have, repeatedly.

"they already refuse in the face of other evidence of the actual reality of Genesis"
Like that magical garden protected by an invisible angel weilding a flaming sword they found back in the sixties?
Or that species of talking snake the world's zoos won't put on display?
Or when those paeleolinguists traced the origin of all languages back to the ruins of an immense tower near the Tunisian border perhaps?

Helen, may I ask a counter-question?
What would happen if people found some relic of the islamic myths which proved the truth of the islamic religion?
Would you convert on the spot? Or would you continue to refuse? After all, the Islamists are convinced that YOU already refuse in the face of other evidence of the actual reality of the Quran!
As an Atheist, I may add: Fortunately, it is EXTREMELY improbable that the Ark or similiar thing will be found ever. It is as improbable as the possibility that Cinderella's glass slipper will ever be found.

"What would happen if people actually found the Ark?"
Well, considering that for (not taking into account the fact it - if it existed - was merely made of wood) such a craft to hold at least two of every species that exists today; and have feed storage/livestock exercising facilities (to say nothing of crew quarters), said 'Ark' would have to be far larger than the Jahre Viking, the biggest ocean-going vessel that exists to date. Now, keep in mind the so-called 'Ark' was made of wood, then consider this:
The largest wooden ship made to date was the French vessel Rochambeau. In 1874. It sailed only once.
'She was not particularly stable or seaworthy, even with her substantial metal components, and only made one voyage in the open ocean to reach her new owners.'
'scrapped'
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_world%27s_largest_wooden_ships
I don't see any mention in the Bible about your so-called 'God' intervening in keeping said craft seaworthy. The concept of 'Structural Integrity Fields' didn't exist until "Star Trek".
Nor is there any mention in the Bible about having said animals 'miniaturised', nor having just tissue/cell samples of animals, for later regeneration/cloning, post-flood abatement.
Nor is there any mention about Noah being a Gallifreyan Time Lord, and his craft being a TARDIS.
PROTIP: The Don Bluth animated film "Titan AE" (with the eponymous combined DNA-archive & life-seeding-cum-terraforming ship) and the anime series "Kiddy Grade" (with the Nouvlesse-population-carrying & terraforming/transforming ship/mecha 'Deucalion') are
not documentaries.
So, in conclusion: 'What would happen if people actually found the Ark?' Considering the above fact, the only answer to that question is this:
If.

It can't have happened yet. Not here.
And this from a person who uses If as though she understands it. This must be the famous Helen Waite I've heard so much about; if you want to see proof of The Ark, go to Helen Waite for it.

Seeing as there is more chance of a real live T Rex being foumd in a remote jungle somewhere, I wouldn't worry too much about it.

Yeah, already happening. People find a rotten piece of wood on a mountain somewhere in Turkey and they go "It's the Ark!" No. It's a piece of rotten wood.

Show us the "actual reality" of Genesis that you are hiding in your closet, and we will reconsider.
There are already fake Ark wood pieces, probably enough to build five arks. For every fool born, there is someone willing to help him part with his money.

Here's your problem: You have the extraordinary claims but no evidence of any kind. You have never provided even a shred of evidence for your beliefs so, yes, finding your ark would be extraordinary especially since it never fucking ever existed.
Yes I'll doubt each and every claim, the Christian track record contains hundreds of fraudulant claims and not one item of actual evidence so we are quite comfortable in a position of distrust for any claim. We one thing we have come to depend on is the dishonesty of the religion game.

What would happen if people actually found the Stargate? Massive tourism, shrines, it would become the Super-Relic, and those who did want to believe it real would continue to refuse -- after all, they already refuse in the face of other evidence of the actual reality of television sci-fi shows!
