Quote# 3314

Maybe I'm an exception; however, this earth doesn't look ancient to me... Oh yes, perhaps 10 thousand years old or so but billions of years seems totally idiotic.

Homer

It looks 15,675 years 231 days 5 hours and 12 minutes old to me.
It's not very bright outside though so maybe I'll try to estimate again tomorrow.

This is how all the best science is done!

Of course it's over 4 billion years old. I'll agree that it doesn't look a day over 1.5 billion, but you've got to realize that it's had a lot of facelifts.

brilliant deductions 'A_Christian'. this is just too good - 'earth doesn't look ancient to me', 'billions of years seems totally idiotic'. i guess its all over for geology with one fell swoop of a christian's startling insight.

That would probably be why science used radiometric dating to come up with a plausible date range approximating the 4.55 billion year mark, instead of sticking their head out their tent window and writing some 'holy' gibberish before going back to fucking their goats.

Ok, he's got us there, the earth is CLEARLY not old. And, as we know, one does not ask a woman of her age, so we're in a sticky wicket here Atheists.

Yeah... or we could do the radiometric thing. Problem solved, yay.

The Bible is Right!

You can't tell me the earth is old.

Did you know that if the universe is very old, they would have landed in a mile of space dust on the moon.

Also, they have beetles that make a spit so hot that it couldn't have been evolved because they is no step inbtween.

But they never tell you these things in science because it goes against they religon of evolution.

Let me ask you people a question: If evolution was true, where do bulls come from? There are no female bulls, so how do they come to be if they aren't created? I bet you never talked about that in evolution school.

@The Bible is Right

Please tell me this is satirical. Please?

You can't tell me the earth is old.
All emprirical evidence points to...

Did you know that if the universe is very old, they would have landed in a mile of space dust on the moon.
Because dust just appears...it's not like it shifts and moves. not to mention there's not atmosphere on the moon TO move the dust.

Also, they have beetles that make a spit so hot that it couldn't have been evolved because they is no step inbtween.
How do you know this? Are you a biologist? Have you studied these beetles?

But they never tell you these things in science because it goes against they religon of evolution.
First, science, specifically evolution, is not a religion. Second, the very nature of science is to examine things from as many angles as is humanly possible. Which, for the record, is why evolution is still labeled as a theory...so long as there's anything unproven, any question left unanswered, the books are still open. that doesn't mean it's wrong.

Let me ask you people a question: If evolution was true, where do bulls come from? There are no female bulls, so how do they come to be if they aren't created? I bet you never talked about that in evolution school.
Sure we do. Where do you think we get milk from?

Maybe I'm an exception; however, this earth doesn't look recent to me... Oh, yes, perhaps 4 or 5 billion years or so, bbut thousands of years seems totally idiotic.

Those are some of the dumbest questions I've ever heard. Now who are you really?

10/13/2007 9:38:04 PM

I'm calling Poe on TBiR. For the sake of my sanity.

Poe buster on that last comment - that IS a comment so stupid that is probably hasn't been said seriously by a fundimentalist christian.

I can't claim it though - it was an old post at Internet Infidels.

And your reference for such a conclusion?...uh huh...yes ...none. And you would be able to tell if the landscape is 10,000 years or a billion because...?..nuh huh...i see,,,that's it?

Wow. You're stupid

Is that "Bull" question in the middle of this page for real?

You don't realize a Bull is just a full-grown male cattlebeast?

You think it's a special creation of the Lord to bug creationists? Is that it? Then why it buggin' you and I just think thats just a very stupid question?

The dictionary would have cleared that non-mystery up for you

He's got a point, guys. I mean, I just had grass laid down last year, so the Earth is roughly twelve months old. Give or take a few weeks, of course.

Ever heard of cows, moron?

In Fundie Bizarro World, maybe. Time clearly runs much faster there. What colour is the sky in your dimension, A_Christian?

I know that compared to the latest Intel I-7 Quad Core desktops & Dual Core laptops, my 2.4 GHz Pentium IV, and Dell Inspiron 2200 (1.4 GHz Celeron M) setups are Stone Age, but as far as I'm concerned, they're not ancient to me. Oh yes, 5 years old or so, but spending thousands on high-end computers just to play games, when older setups can still word process/spreadsheet, image manipulate/video convert, view/burn DVDs, and web surf just as well seems totally idiotic*.

[/semi-rant]

*- So would it kill the software houses, to create at the same time versions of their newest games that work with slower setups? So what if the graphics wouldn't be as photorealistic as the latest editions?!
