Well when I was not a theist I did pretty much whatever I wanted, ie sleep with as many women as I wanted etc. If I stopped believing in objective moral values I would definitely start doing that one again if I thought that any feeling of it being wrong was just an illusion. Just being honest.

The problem with God is that for many sectors of humanity, he/she/it is a necessary evil. Mankind is like a big classroom full of children ranging in age from about 5 to about 12. There are good kids, and there are bad kids. A lot of them are smart, and even more are stupid... A few are both smart and good, And a few are both smart and bad.
But there's no teacher.
So we've created this gigantic 'Daddy' figure to scare the bad, stupid, and immature into behaving, because unlike the rest of us, they just aren't morally and spiritually capable of taking care of themselves... Of course, unfortunately, they then say 'Well if WE have to obey Daddy, why shouldn't YOU have to as well!?', and thus do their best to make everyone else fear Daddy's punishment as much as they do, by insisting not only that Daddy is judging everything you do, but that humanity has no inherent nobility - nobody is capable of just being a good person without the guidance of God.
While that is a horrible situation, the worst part is that there are a lot of people who are NOT capable of being good without the guidance - or rather threat - of God, and if we take their God away, they're going to go berzerk.
How can he claim to actually be a Christian when he admits that it it isn't actually in his heart to be a good person? I know this is obvious, but he is just saying that he acts properly because the thinks there is a reward for doing so or a punishment for not. Doesn't HE see this? How can he say he has "objective" moral values when clearly his values are not only subjective, but completely changable as well. I am not a christian, however, I do have values. I really doubt that many athiest or agnostic people have consciences which are as mutable as his. Honest? Not with himself.
Rabbit: People like this don't see it because they're taught that their lack of inherent goodness is humanity's normal state, and only through God can any human being achieve nobility. This is why they think anyone who doesn't follow their God's way is a bad person - they believe people are not able to just be morally centered by themselves.
Confused?
