Actually, Huckabee's belief in creationism is one of the reasons that I'll be voting for him, despite the fact that I despise the Republican party with quite the passion. Whether or not evolution is a religion, the fact is that it is treated as such by many atheist scientists and non-scientists alike, who venerate it as some icon of atheism.
Sure, he doesn't have that great of an economic policy. And his plan for Iraq is horrendous. But I figured I'd vote for him for no other reason than to break down an altar to Richard Dawkins. And besides that, why would I listen to "the scientists" position on political issues. What do they know about politics anyway?

Yes, Jesus was such an acclaimed and knowledgeable politician.
Personally, belief in creationism should disqualify a politician as too stupid to hold public office, or, at least, define that politician as unable to grasp reality, which should disqualify him or her.
"why would I listen to "the scientists" position on political issues."
I'm going to assume that was a question even though you failed to use a question mark (you'll learn about those when you get to second grade).
Evolution is not a political issue, nor is it a religion or a religious issue. It is science, which happens to be the field of scientists.
Yes, NIMROD, vote for creationism. Fuck the economy. Just vote for Hick-abee to give Dawkins the finger.
There should be an I.Q. test before giving someone the right to vote.
So throw dummy (pacifier) out of pram just to go against the EVILutionists.
It isn't patriotic to vote for someone out of spite, especially one who you believe isn't the best candidate for your party. The US, for better or for worse, remains the only global super-power, whoever is the next president of the US will be the de facto leader of the world. Do you really want to give a dipstick that power, and the power to run the US further into the mire of economic stagnation and the shit-hole of Iraq JUST to spite RIchard Dawkins.
You, sir, are a reason why there should be an IQ test attached to the ballot box.
- Sure, he doesn't have that great of an economic policy.
The only good bit about Huckabee- that he isn't ruled by his rich overlords, and doesn't obey their every economic whim, unlike every single other Republican candidate since Nixon- is a sticking point? You're just screaming, 'repress me, repress me'. I mean, how stupid do you want to get?
- And besides that, why would I listen to "the scientists" position on political issues. What do they know about politics anyway?
What about 'political scientists'? They're supposed to know everything about politics!
Huckabee may be the first Republican to actually believe their social conservative bullshit- but he marries it with populist liberal economics. That is frightening, in more ways than one.
You would sacrifice your country to get at an author you probably have never met and never will?
You have reached a level of stultitude I never thought could exist. Voting for the horrors that Huckabee would bring on your country just to get at an author? You don't deserve a vote!
For the last time, NOBODY VENERATES EVOLUTION AS A RELIGION!
And by the way, voting for a candidate just to spite someone you've never met, and who wouldn't give a rat's ass about your opinion anyway, is really immature.
What the heck difference does Huckabee's opinion on creationism matter? Does he expect Huckabee to override the Constitution? Leave it to a fundie to choose a president based on stuff the president has no control over, while ignoring his position on the issues he's actually being hired to deal with.
"And besides that, why would I listen to "the scientists" position on political issues. What do they know about politics anyway?"
As much as any priest would.
"why would I listen to "the scientists" position on political issues. What do they know about politics anyway?"
And why would you listen to a politician's position on scientific issues? What does he know about science anyway?
(Please PLEASE tell me you are being ironic, arunma, and making fun of fundies who vote for a dimwit solely because of his position on what their pastor considers THE issues, namely gay marriage and abortion. Please?)
Not a Poe. Arunma's been beating this "atheists worship science" drum for quite some time. He really does seem to hate atheists to the extent that he'd vote for an insane candidate because atheists want a sane president.
And to think, this idiot claims that he's a graduate student studying physics.
Scared now. Very scared. I'm not an American, and not much interested in politics, but I still fly at the television whenever there's anything on about the U.S election, because the more I hear about Huckabee, the more I know i'm not going to relax until i'm certain he won't be voted in.
And if he actually does? I may well go and live in a cave in the Shetland isles somewhere.
There isn't really a chance is there? Surely Bush's reign taught them something? Just give me some hope, somebody?
Yeah, why should we listen to scientists?! They don't know anything!!
And seriously- creationist are the ones who seem to treat evolution as though it were a religion, not atheists.
"Whether or not evolution is a religion,"
It's not. 'Nuff said.
"the fact is that it is treated as such by many atheist scientists and non-scientists alike,"
We don't spend millions on big churches either.
" who venerate it as some icon of atheism."
I'd say it's an icon of the progress of science, moron.
Confused?
