Hey, me and my girlfriend have been trying much harder to witness to all of our friends and family. We both find it easier to witness to athiests, catholics, mormons, and some others similar to those, but we have the hardest time with some of her muslim friends. Her friends live in Sweden, and she mostly talks to them through instant messenger. She has been trying to just show them how a lot of the stuff in the Bible matches up with whats going on today, she's also talked about salvation through Jesus Christ, but she just keeps getting all kinds of rejections from them, saying were brain-washed, (when we know they in fact are)

So witnessing to atheists (who've no doubt heard it many times before, but being friends are humouring you), and other christians (yes, the mormons and catholics believe in JC too) isn't causing you too many problems, but go up against someone with a very different idea of God and you're having trouble.
You'd think that someone would be glad to discard their longest-held and most cherished beliefs on the unsupported say-so of a slight acquaintance. Surely that's much better than sticking with a bunch of patently false views to the extent that you actually refuse to believe facts that disagree even when you see them with your own eyes, isn't it? Go figure.

I find it funny that he finds the other fundamentalists (i.e. muslims) less tolerant of their silly badgering than the atheists, catholics, etc, who are humoring them. Well, duh.

Sweden is in Europe. Europe, in general, is not a religious place. We have no interest in your god made in your fundamentalist image. We have our own gods, like Freedom, Irreligion, Earning a lot of Money, Keeping our economies buoyant, Laughing at American Fundies who try to convert us, Culture, Literature, Good music, including popular (ever hear of Beethoven or Abba?)and we like to have a good time while showing respoect to our neighbours by not bothering them with assholeish rubbish from the Fundieland states of America. We have pity for, and sympathy with decent Americans who try to exercise intellectual awareness and independence of thought. Also, I'm with inamate22841 - maybe these 'friends' their referring to are just people at work, or other aquaintences. I wouldn't be friends with people who kept telling me I was evil and destined for Hell if I didn't accept their particular brand of insane Fundism.
Is being an incompetent missionary a requirement for RR membership?!? Bemoaning how no one takes them seriously is the second most common thing for them to say.
