well, I've noticed that when I see a Buddha statue, or an blue Idol with 6 Arms, and in cirtain places, spacifically where there's Supposedly sorcery nearby... I just get a feeling of dread, an Inexcapble feeling of dread... I don't think it's just that I seems creepy to me... there's got to be some... presence... a demon perhaps, but all I know is that that feeling is very real in places that people practice witchcraft, and even if witches aren't real... I know there's something there... and some 6th sense is warning me...
O, It's not racism... not just hindu statues either... stuff like... sorcery, horoscopes... In fact... even before I'd seen any movie or anything about hindu statues being evil, I could STILL feel it... I could feel the demons...

I've noticed that when I see 'cirtain' messages with poor punctuation, misuse of caps and bad spelling, 'spacifically' on the internet, I get an 'Inexcapble' feeling of stupidity.
That sixth sense is a mild (or severe, in your case) disease we like to call Fuckheadiphilis.
The only known cure is GETTING OUT OF THE BRONZE AGE
ROFLMFAO @ Horsefeathers.
(oh shit, I'm in fucking tears)
That is christianity in a nutshell.
@approximate
Glad you liked it.
Hinduism =/= Buddhism =/= sorcery, fuckwit.
And by the way, Hinduism was already a well established religion when your lot was still busy spending 40 years (!) in the desert, just because your god was too fucking stupid to find them a quicker route for the 300 miles between Cairo and Jerusalem, and 2500 years before your carpenter had his 3 year gig in Palestine.
So show some respect to those "demons" - they've literally been there, done that, when your god was nothing but a "good idea at the time" for some bronze age nomad.
Hindu statues really are quite nice you know. I saw a very expansive and exquisitely beautiful collection of ancient wooden Hindu statue art at the East Asian Art Museum in D.C.
Oddly enough I did not have fits or premonitions when I saw them. This is likely because I am not so invested in a belief system that one with really sweet looking gods like 6 armed blue elephants is threatening to me on a base level.
Can someone explain the meaning of "Poe" as it is used on this site?
Apparently, you're the only one feeling this. Thousands of tourists, missionaries, civil servants and diplomatics passed through them, and nothing happens. Are you sure you took your meds?
Buddha, Hinduism, and sorcery are all unrelated. The last one is fictional.
Also, what you're feeling is called "paranoid delusions." It's common among fundies, as they have a difficult time separating fantasy from reality. I suggest seeing a psychiatrist.
The 'demons' of No Dictionary seems to be your worst enemy. Why the hell can't fundies spell? It's a sign of their complete ignorance.
Huuked on fonix, and Home Skuuled.
I've noticed that when someone barfs idiotic, xenophobic, poorly spelled, ungrammatical, intolerant shitheaddery on teh intertubes, I want to promptly ignore their worthless opinion.
@[b]anevilmeme:
Oh, I have no doubt he could have seen a movie about it. Fundie propaganda shit about idols. Yep, very believable, sadly.
@[b]sox:
Poe = "Poe's law". Someone can post the "official" statement, but it's basically "you can't tell the difference between real fundie nonsense and parody of the same". Used here to mean "nah, I think this was supposed to be parody/sarcasm". (And used with a question mark or pleading to mean "oh dear god, I hope that was supposed to be parody/sarcasm. Surely nobody's that stupid. Right? Right? Oh god, I weep for humanity!!!".)
You feel uneasy in the presence of all these things because your indoctrination has conditioned you to respond to them that way; it's practically a Pavlovian response.
Now why don't you pass the time by playing a little solitaire? Would you kindly?
@Euclid
Thanks for the info, I just found this site last night, and I have to say that there are an awful lot of people out there worthy of “Poe?”
sometimes I wonder if these people should not be allowed to have children considering they either pass on their madness, or put their children through 18+ years of hell.
@sox
To expand on what Euclid said, Poe's Law is more fully stated as: "Without the use of a winking smiley or other blatant display of humor, it is impossible to make a parody of Creationism that someone won't mistake for the real thing."
It is, as far as I'm aware, named for Nathan Poe who posts over at ChristianForums.com as he's the one who coined it.
well, I've noticed that when I see a Christ statue, or some guy with a plate on his head, and in cirtain places, spacifically where there's Supposedly christinaity nearby... I just get a feeling of hilarity, an Inexcapble feeling of hilarity... I don't think it's just that I seems funny to me... there's got to be some... presence... an elf perhaps, but all I know is that that feeling is very real in places that people practice christinaity, and even if god isn't real... I know there's something there... and some 6th sense is warning me...
I couldn't read this without laughing. Not just because of the story, but the way Justintime9 uses ellipses makes the post look like William Shatner should be reading it.
"Spock...there's got to be some...presence...an alien entity, perhaps."
No Justintime9 are correct. You have an amazing gift, there are so few of us that can sense demons on this plane. You are one of the descentants Xornathestsu of the Quarjutlatoxta a place that jesus once visited and the people drank his holy blood and waste.
I am short of funds at the moment but if you can send a small tithe to mine bank account I can send you the neccessary equipment to reveal, bind, banish and yes, even destroy these ungodly beings from this holy of places. Don't be afraid my unicorn angel spirit watches over you!
Rachokabaloka my friend.
Gogah of the brotherhood of the Xornathestsu.
Buddha=/= Hinduism.
Buddha=/= Wicca
You may not be racist but you hate what you don't understand. Buddha is not evil.Nor Wicca. Nor Hinduism. They are different beliefs from yours, no demons.
The Watcher wrote "How will you ever excape the evils of "blue Idols with 6 Arms?"
My good friend Miss Lara Croft advises 'Climb something high and keep firing the Brownings. The big blue guys are invulnerable when they cross their arms over their chests so you'll need to climb down occasionally to tempt them to spread their arms into an attacking position'.
Hope this helps.
Your grammar is atrocious. If you want to be taken seriously, learn to fucking spell! And don't write this:
"I don't think it's just that I seems creepy to me.."
You seem creepy to me too.
My fiancee and I are both Buddhists, and after moving to a corner of the Bible belt, we get this all the time. It doesn't bother me, I actually find it funny. We keep a Buddha statue in our home as a reminder of our path, not to worship it.
Also, if Jesus will protect you from all, then why do you fear pieces of metal or wood?
EEK! people who are different are so scary!
"O, It's not racism"
Oh, you saying that makes it ok then, like me saying, "I don't think your a twat".
What in the nine hells are people like this doing on an Uru board?
I don't see how anyone this stupid could make the slightest bit of progress in a Myst game. Especially since the Myst mythos has a lot of very non-Christian symbolism and religious imagery.
Y'know, there's a temple in Kyoto where they have 1000+ statues of the Buddhist deity Kannon.
I'd love to duct-tape this guy to a wall there, just to watch him squirm.
@anevilmeme: He probably saw Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom.
To be honest, I'd rather worship at a Hindu temple than a Christian chruch. Most churches are so drab and dull. At least the Hindus add some color, decor, and incense (I'm not catholic).
The Museum of Fine Arts in Boston has a great collection of Buddha statues in the Idian and Chinese art sections. Oh, forget it. No self-respecting fundie would go anywhere near a museum- might learn something! And what about the ghey artists, and the nudes, oh no!

Well, here in Europe Catholic churches can be pretty colorful, particularly the Barocco ones (still fucking cold, though). To say nothing of the Orthodox ones: icons, incense, choregraphy, costumes, they really know how to make spectacular masses. The only problem is that they're so excruciatingly loooooooooooong....
To be honest, I personnally always get an eerie feeling from Da Vinci's last Supper painting and those Medieval German statues of jesus and Mary. I don't go calling Jesus, Mary and the apostles demons because of that.
Damn Fundies...
What the heek is this? I posted this on URU Obsession, in response to a thread like, 5 months ago,and now there's a big discussion about it, on some random website I've never heard of?!
AGH! The ellipses...bad spelling...it burns...
Wait, this mook thinks demons reside in Buddha statues and Ganesh statues?
That's it, going to bed. It's not healthy to read this much stupid so late at night.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
