Either way, my point is that we should rejoice when GOD takes one of HIS children home or when he sends a sinner to hell.
[I'm sorry, but that is the most disgusting comment I've ever read. I will not or ever rejoice in someone going to Hell.]
You will one day. Note Rev. 19:1-4 where God's people sing him praises because of the exercise of his judgment. We must never think that we are more compassionate than God when it comes to the judging of the ungodly. Now we speak in mercy, then we will speak in glory - indeed, we are sorrowful over the death of sinners to damnation; but in heaven, we will praise his name for the exercise of his glory in judgment.

We must never think that we are more compassionate than God when it comes to the judging of the ungodly.
That's going to be rather difficult, considering that there are very few instances of your god demonstrating any compassion at all, and they're vastly outweighed by his sheer viciousness and unrestrained brutality the rest of the time. Your god is arrogant, vindictive and cruel by any working moral standard.
Jesus said that Heaven rejoices more when a sinner repents than when a righteous man goes to Heaven but, of course, Jesus only appears in your vocabulary to name it ad nauseam, not to bother to quote him.
Seriously, do some people go for fundementalist Christianity because of their sadism?
Oh, if your nickname is what I think it is, gofuck yourself with a B.C. Rich head.
"And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven, saying, Alleluia; Salvation, and glory, and honour, and power, unto the Lord our God: and truly, there wereth many people who said, darneth this all to heck, I shalleth not sing any of these stupide songs of glory and honour, for those people condemnest to hell werenth *all* actually that nasty, really."
Rev. 19:1, Kinge Jamese with The Omitted Words Included Version
The whole idea of being Christian is to become better than the god of Abraham. What do you think the Savior was supposed to have saved his people from?...An asshole blood god who pushed the idea, that to live is to sin. Fuck that.
To be "godly" is to exhibit characteristics which are superior to Yaldabaoth's: mercy, compassion, wisdom, etc.
It's interesting to see how the concept of 'Hell' evolves throughout the Bible.
Originally there was just 'sheol' (nothingness) after death. The teaching was 'follow God's laws and you'll do well in life'. The problem is, this clearly wasn't true. People who lied, cheated, stole and murdered rose to the top of society.
So then there was the idea of the sins of the fathers being visited on the children, even until the n'th generation. The trouble with this is that (a) it's blatantly unfair and (b) the children of said liars, cheats, thieves and murderers tended to carry on the family tradition and often did very well for themselves in the process.
So, Hell, eternal torment. A revenge fantasy that as no-one comes back from the dead it's impossible to disprove.
Brilliant.
Except that eternal punishment for finite sins (however great) is incompatible with a benevolent and merciful God.
Doh.
People curse God because of people like this. I almost pity them.
I am a Christian, and I post in one of the boards that you get your quotes from.
I never believed in "hell". When I started looking into it to try and reconcile this doctrine with a loving God, I found out that there never was, and never will be, "hell".
It's may be the result of a mistake in translation, but it was probably intentional and not a mistake.
"Now we speak in mercy, then we will speak in glory"
Fundamentalist Christian on arriving in Heaven:
Oh yes! Thank you lord, thank you lord, for sending all the people I don't like to eternal damnation. Oh, their screams of terror and pain are music to my ears because they remind me how glorious and compassionate you are and how much better I am than them. Oh Lord, your mercy knows no bounds -burning flesh, bursting eyeballs, blades shoved under fingernails, just a few of the wonderful, merciful, glorious things you have allowed to happen to all the horrible people I don't like now that you've sent them to hell. Oh let me suck your cock lord, let me suck your glorious fascist cock and worship your holy sadism!"
If that was in response to me, you may need to re-read my question. I didn't lay claim to what I believe, but thank you for making an assumption. Do you have an answer to my question or do you like to just verbally berate people?
After these things I heard[a] a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, “Alleluia! Salvation and glory and honor and power belong to the Lord our God! 2 For true and righteous are His judgments, because He has judged the great harlot who corrupted the earth with her fornication; and He has avenged on her the blood of His servants shed by her.” 3 Again they said, “Alleluia! Her smoke rises up forever and ever!” 4 And the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshiped God who sat on the throne, saying, “Amen! Alleluia!”
That's where he's coming from. Revelation, harder to pull into reality then the craziest thing you can imagine. Revelation: Shit tenfold unto itself. Nuffsaid.
Confused?
