The whole scientific establishment is in shambles. They don't know what DNA is...they don't know where it came from....they don't know what it does...they don't know how the information got there.....they don't know what role it plays (if any) in the construction of organisms -- they simply don't know jack, and now their explanations are borderlining on the mentally insane.

But these answers will never be had because the painful reality and truth is these answers are not to be found in the physical....the physical is just a manifestation of the mind. By looking at molecules, science isn't looking at the cause of anything; they're looking at the effects. DNA doesn't control life; life controls DNA....therefore stuyding DNA is mostly a waste of time and money...for it will provide answers to nothing.

DNA stands for deoxyribonucleic acid. It's a spiral shaped compound critical to all organic life. It is comprised of a phosphate-lipid backbone and rows of nitrogenous bases known as adenine, guanine, cytosine, and taurine. These are connected by hydrogen bonds.

From very simple and abundant organic chemical compounds that can be found in the sea and bought with a child's allowance from a chemistry store.

they don't know what it does
It stores the genetic instructions the body needs in order to synthesize proteins. In short, it is the blue print of your entire body.

they don't know how the information got there
From the way the four base compounds are arranged specific chains of amino acids can be made to create specific proteins, which are the building blocks of organic life.

they don't know what role it plays (if any) in the construction of organisms
I just told you that. DNA carries the instructions that tell ribosomes which proteins need to be made and when.

Supersport, just because you don't know jack about DNA doesn't mean scientists do. Next time you feel like brining up this issue, why don't you just do a quick search on Wikipedia for DNA. They have quite a page on it.

DNA: Deoxyribonucleic Acid. It's a polypeptide chain - a type of polymer - composed of a dual backbone of glycophosphates attached to combinations of matched base pairs.

Polypeptides as complex as DNA (and even short DNA chains) have been observed to form in certain conditions without the need for human interaction. Just mix up the ingredients and let them sit. Lots of polymers form that way - like superglue, for instance.

It encodes time- and stimulus-sequenced information for the production of proteins from amino acids and other components, which are necessary for cell and organelle building, repair, and regulation.

Well, for starters, there's evolution. If there's a mutation in DNA (and there are several types of mutation possible), sometimes it will produce a new trait in an individual - via how cells are built, repaired and regulated - when enough mutations occur, and that trait may be passed to offspring. If the new trait is adaptive, it may be selected for preservation in the species. If the new trait is maladaptive, then the new trait will be less likely to be passed to offspring. There are other ways this can happen as well.

DNA is the blueprint of every cell or fibrous material produced in your body. So it has everything to to with the construction of organisms. Organisms are an emergent property of genetic code - of which DNA is only one type.

Gee, Supersport - wait, it's Guzman now, right? Gee, Guzman...I'm not even a scientist, and I didn't have to look up that Wikipedia article to write this. I've just had a couple of introductory biology courses in college - which were taught by scientists, I might add, who have proof to go along with the information. Oh - and the only observations we can make of the universe are effects - sight is an effect of light striking rods and cones in your eye, taste is an effect of chemical reactions on your tongue. And they're all about which molecules go where, too.

Your argument doesn't work, yet you keep spouting the same things over and over again like a broken record.

So, the only person bordering on mentally insane is you.

We aren't in shambles, its a controlled catastrophe curve as dictated by the number of hot chicks who dig us on PhD grant boards. The more hot chicks, the less shambolic our research looks. After all, chicks dig scientists with organised pippetors.

DNA - Deoxyribo Nucleic Acid... Its pretty shocking if we give abbreviations to shit and can't remember what they mean.

DNA - Where it came from? We are postulating a variety of ideas. Its not that complex a molecule and could have been assembled quite quickly in the "primordial ooze". We are experimenting on that. Just cause we don't have an answer does'nt mean we should go "LA LA LA THE ENTIRE SCIENCE IS USELESS!"

DNA - What it does? What does'nt it do! Short of Cillit Bang this stuff does nigh on everything or indeed influence it. It is the coding of information to assemble a whole bunch of proteins which dictate everything to do with the assembly and function of life. We do know what role it plays in the "construction" of an organism. I urge people to look into "sonic hedgehog genes".

DNA research - But the chicks dig it! How else will I impress easily impressible young ladies in bars without my research! My manly rugged body? I think not! My research makes hot ladies want to sleep with me! Thats why I do it!

That and shit like feeding people with more effective crops and treating a bunch of unfortunate diseases, but who cares about that crap.

Like all fundies, he doesn't know how science works and he presumes that it must work like Christian Theology. To understand this mindset, we have to understand how interpreting the Bible works (if the Bible were written by God, wouldn't you have no need of an interpretor?).

1) Start with your own views
2) Read a confusing and self-contradictory book that tries to be all things to all people
3) Find passages in that book that agree with your point of view, even if you have to take them out of context
4) Start your own Christian denomination based upon your own interpretation of this book
5) Enjoy all the money you get from your religious denomination

Anybody with a basic knowledge of science should be able to recognize that science differs significantly from this.

Recombinant DNA Technology in the Synthesis of Human Insulin

Although bovine and porcine insulin are similar to human insulin, their composition is slightly different. Consequently, a number of patients' immune systems produce antibodies against it, neutralising its actions and resulting in inflammatory responses at injection sites.
