Quote# 34220

I think Obama's actions should speak louder than his words.

Would a Christian lay his hand on the bible or the koran?

would a real american by heart refuse to pledge allegiance to our flag and our country?

His actions tell me he is not for America and is not a christian.

A vote for obama is a vote for islam is a vote against the United States.

Someone gets all their facts from chain emails. What a retard. If you honestly research the incident they are talking about, Obama says, "When I was younger my father always told me that you should stand at attention during the National Anthem and that you should sing it."

So yeah. He didn't have his hand on his heart because that is reserved for the pledge of alliegence.

Tell me BlessedInsideHim, do you know all the words to the National Anthem by heart?

Retard.

Congratulations. It takes effort to be 100% wrong.

Thou Shalt Not bear false witness against thy fellow man, asshole.

Obama didn't refuse to put his hand on his heart during the Pledge. That was during the national anthem, and it was because his publicists advised him not to.
And Obama was sworn in on a Bible. Not a Quran.

Pardon me, BiH, but your first question is unclear. Did you mean swearing on either of those books? Either way, how is this relevant?

As to your second question, a real American pledges his allegiance to the Constitution which is the contract between all citizens that make up this country.

Pledging allegiance to a gaudy piece of cloth is just silly - like pledging allegiance to your underwear.

Was BlessedinHim complaining when George Bush stood on a flag at the 9/11 5th anniversary observance, or when he autographed one? Or is he just annoyed when Obama doesn't salute the National Anthem?

I think Obama's actions should speak louder than his words.

Would a Christian lay his hand on the bible or the koran?

- I, as a former Christian had a Qur'an, and often laid my hands on it.

would a real american by heart refuse to pledge allegiance to our flag and our country?

- There's no knowin' what them injuns'll do!

His actions tell me he is not for America and is not a christian.

- Your prejudices are causing you to hallucinate - not to mention your racism.

A vote for obama is a vote for islam is a vote against the United States.

Except that Barak Obama, like many with semitic names, is not a Muslim. Gobshite!

Say it with me, boys and girls: OBAMA. IS. NOT. FUCKING. MUSLIM.

Would a Christian lay his hand on the bible or the koran?

Id like to think a true Christian could see that its the same god so yes.

would a real american by heart refuse to pledge allegiance to our flag and our country?

given a real american would be an indian it seems quite posable

His actions tell me he is not for America and is not a christian.

which actions?

A vote for obama is a vote for islam is a vote against the United States.

you're just pulling things out of your ass now aren't you?

A lie using his name for political purposes really pisses God off. Some little GOP cult member better pray for forgiveness real hard tonight!

This idiot really thinks 'Christian' is synonymous with 'patriot' and 'Muslim' with 'anti-American' or 'terrorist', does he? What an utter asshole.

And none of these issues matter zilch anyway. Sad state of affairs when these things play such a big role.

It is indeed a sad day when the religious affiliation of a man is more valuable than the very principles he stands for. Men such as Martin Luther King and Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi DIED for the right for all men whether they be black, white or green, whether they follow Jesus, Allah, Vishnu or Flying Spaghetti Monster to stand equally amongst each other. It is the policy that should dictate the vote. Not anything else.

It saddens me that the work of such selfless individuals hasn't reached some people. And indeed I only hope that these people are in the minority.

The thing that gives me the shits is the term 'real american'. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't a real American:
1) someone born in the US, to parents who are US citizens
2) a person who was not originally a US citizen, but has acquired citizenship.

In that case, there are millions of real Americans who follow the teachings of various holy books, don't support the government, don't pledge allegiance to the flag and country, commit crimes against the state etc.

I'm sick of the term real American (or in our case 'real Australian') being applied only to those who think, vote and worship exactly as you do.

Sooo... If you aren't christian you are automatically muslim, and if you aren't American you are automatically against the US?

Someone please tell me that not all Americans are like this sepo? Lie to me if you have to. [One Interwebz to whoever can tell me how I got the insult sepo]

So Obama's neither a True American, nor a True Scotsman. Poor bugger's running out of True Nationalities, it seems.

Yeah, I guess that's why he just spent time explaining that he was a Christian. He's just not the fundie kind.

pledging allegiance is rather a theatrical thiong to do (I've watched war-dodge Bush do the whole hand on heart thing!)

In mature societies the allegiance is unspoken, and indeed anyone going through those hystrionics at every opportunity would be thought a bit, well, sad. I'm sorry if this offends anyone, but I find gestures less meaningful than behaviour - Bush has thoroughly fucked up the US for some time to come - maybe not unpatriotic, but certainly unhelpful

So let me get this straight. Obamba isn't a muslim?

How long has this information been out there?!

1/29/2008 10:58:18 AM

Alot of people overseas even know that Obama is not MUSLIM.... how many people does it take to tell you lot that huh?

@apYrs

No freakin' kidding. That's the thing I love about being Canadian. We're not so hung up on the theatrics of what makes a "true" citizen. If the national anthem is sung, some people might sing along, some might not...AND THOSE WHO DO NOT AREN'T FEARING A LYNCH MOB! I've never heard someone screeching about not being a true Canadian for one reason or another...save for if anyone doesn't like Tim Hortons... :p It's just not a big deal here. And I find it somewhat nauseating to see someone so caught up in some dramatic statement to show how he's more patriotic than everyone else.
