Quote# 34276

(Since atheism is NOT a religion making the idea of all politicians governing on strictly secular principles is NOT violating their freedom of religion.)

WRONG. Your Secular Progressive Atheism Mandate is contrary to whatever religion they presume. You're telling me to contradict my religious freedoms. I'll take freedom over the tyranny you offer any day.

The tyranny of tax exemption for churches?

The tyranny of resolutely not prosecuting anyone for worshipping?

Help me out here, I'm a little confused.

Oh, right, the tyranny of not letting you contradict other people's freedoms by forcing your god down their throats!

Freedom is a great thing, as long as it's my freedom and not someone else's!

ok, once more now. Your religious freedom does not include violation of my religious freedom, and vice versa. Shall we compare who has the irrepressible urge to ignore this key concept?

What the hell is the Secular Progressive Atheism Mandate?

Father Heathen

The only freedom christians want is to take it away from others.

crazyroper: It's right behind the Gay Agenda and in front of the feminazi manifesto in your "Overthrow the Christian foundation to insure anarchism" leaflet combo.

Didn't you get it at the monthly abortion-for-fun drive / BBQ?

If your religion freedoms include imposing your religion, I think you got the picture.

how about SOMEONE else's religion in government, say Islam?

if not why not?

1/30/2008 2:10:40 PM

But your freedom is tyranny to the rest of us. How do you reconcile that?

Remember -- laws requiring church attendance don't violate your religious freedom, but laws forbidding teacher-led prayer in schools do!

Septic Sceptic

But... I... When... When did we get a mandate? I KNOW we didn't have one when I joined, because I remember needing something at the initiation ritual to wipe the splattered virgin's blood off my robes and there was no paper items in the atheist starter packs they were handing out.

Speaking of those robes, can you believe they charge £25 for them? And it's a total scam because no sooner have you paid than you've offered your first dozen souls to the dark lord and advanced to wearing the green robes.

Should have been an agnostic. At least they get to go on day trips every now and then.

The freedom to mandate whatever religion you wish?

How is that freedom?

Mister Spak

"I'll take freedom over the tyranny you offer any day. "

You have the freedom to practice my religion.

Old Viking

Secular Progress Atheism Mandate. Way too long and clumsy to be the name of a rock group.

Ohh goody, can we nail you to a tree too?

But... I don't like S.P.A.M.!

2/1/2008 7:16:41 PM

No, it's not violating "freedom of religion at all, it's violating freedom "from" religion. You forget yet again that we wish to be discluded.

In short, Jesus can suck it. He implemented his own political agenda for the sake of personal power and gain and helped no one during his time. Not women, not children, not slaves or homosexuals or environmental issue, not a thing.

That you don´t have a consistent faith is nobody´s fault except yours.
