I'm so glad that I follow a loving God.... how could anyone follow a god that tells you to kill innocent people? I feel sorry for these people....they are brought up this way...they think this is really what they are supposed to do...

Explain the Christian fellow who is being hailed as a "martyr" by numerous Christian groups for going to prison for killing a gynecologist who performed abortions.
(That still just boggles my mind. It used to be that martyrs were the ones killed for their beliefs. Now they are considered martyrs for doing the killing and having to be locked up for it.)
Actually their main problem is that Islamic terrorists are often from a disillusioned or repressed group of people who believe that they are at war or indeed are at war.
For instance we can obviously see what Hezbollah and the PLO are about. They were both created as insurgency movements in Lebanon and Palestine for the purpose of making Israel's life a misery. We can see their obvious reason... Israel kind of are "total dicks" about Palestine and Lebanon since the US pretty much gives them free reign to do what they feel like. The average palestinian feels hate because their life is terrible. The state of palestine is pretty much a ghetto rather than a state.
I feel sorry for them but for different reasons. The christian god may be loving, and indeed as an atheist I am well aware of the different views on a personal god the christians have. Muslims have such differences too. However its just that they have a problem with people screwing with them for a few decades that has caused a backlash that we are witnessing.

Easy. Just convince yourself they really aren't innocent and therefore deserve to die.
Islam is based on the Old Testament - the same one Christians and Jews use. It follows the same God: Allah is the Jewish God of Abraham. The Bible is so vague and contradictory that you can make up just about any shit you want and point to some passage that justifies it. That's how we get people like Fred Phelps, David Koresh and abortion clinic bombers.
Ignore God killing almost all life on earth in the Flood, the first-born Egyptians and the residents of Sodom and Gomorrah etc etc where no casualty figures are listed. Just total up the number of people God slaughters in the Bible where numbers are given: it's a minimum of 2,270,365.
Conversely Satan kills 10 (the sons and daughters of Job) and that's only because he has a wager with God who gives him permission to do it.

Just one example of god on a mass murdering spree of innocent children. Just about every other page in the old testament, documents some sort of atrocity commited by a "loving" god.
