"The Lord is good to all.
- Psalm 145:6"
"I make peace and create evil. I the Lord do all these things.
- Isaiah 45:7"
This one is difficult to explain. All you need to know is, the fundies are wrong in that God is in fact vengeful. He even ADMITS it in one of the OT verses.
"I and my father are one.
- John 10:30"
"... I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.
- John 14:28
[Jesus was the speaker in both of these quotes]"
The second one is an example of humility. (And might have to do with the context.)
"If I bear witness of myself, my witness is not true.
- John 5:31"
"I am one that bear witness of myself...
- John 8:18
[Jesus was the speaker in both of these quotes]"
The first one however, is said in reference to humanity, not Jesus.
Remember, with mistranslations from Hebrew, to Greek, to Old English etc, some of the stuff in the bible seems wierd (Young-Earth Creationism, Persecution of Gays, etc) And some of the stuff in the bible is sarcastic. And still more stuff is formed out of knowledge from the time (pi = 3)
God didn't write and translate the bible, people did. Therefore, the bible is bound to be changed for worse by human hand.
