You're right, this is very telling. However, the Bible is actually not the original source of these things. Any class on history and religion will open up your eyes to a more truthful aspect of Biblical events.

The Flood Story is part of the Sumerian Epic of Gilgamesh. As well as the Enuma Elish where Enlil floods the Earth and Enki saves one man, Utnapishtam, on an arc with animals from the world. So Noah and the flood and the arc are all borrowed events/stories.
Continuing with Sumerian, many Christian apologists have said that it is very possible Enlil and Enki from Sumerian mythology might be the origin source for the two halves of God in the Bible. Old Testament God, like Enlil is angry and mean and wants to wipe out humanity. New Testament God, like Enki is very kind and wants to preserve humanity. Thus leading to the Sumerian Flood Myth.
As well, Moses coming out of Egypt may very well have been Aknahten, who was the son of Tut-Moses, nicknamed Little Moses, who wanted to convert Egypt to a monotheistic God called the Aton. So Moses is also borrowed history. Oh and Egypt was not sacked by Aknahten, he was however raised to be a Pharaoh, and did in fact rule Egypt for a short time before being exiled.
Moving ahead, Christ, the word may have it's origins in either Kemetic term Ka-Res-T meaning "the risen body". Just like Jesus' risen body. So Jesus the Christ, may have been more borrowed Egyptian theology. Also, Hindu faiths (far older then 2000 years) speak of Krishna, which was their savior and also sounds a lot like Christ so there's also a theory Christ is a Hindu trinitarian.

There are plenty more examples like this from religions and faiths world-wide that far predate Christianity. All of them in some way containing some event, or person, present in the Holy Bible. So whens studied, really studied, the Bible is not as powerful as it seems.
I won't even get in to astrological and other forms in which the Bible can be translated to be a book on ancient sciences that the Church banned in the middle ages. However, in truth the Bible is just a bunch of borrowed concepts. So anything in it, that is used now, has a far older date to it.
