Quote# 35538

I saw that report on a streamer on Fox and that a tsunami warning was issued and then cancelled. Hmmm, wonder if all the quakes that have occured in this region over the past 2 years have anything to do with Indonesia having the largest Islamic population of any nation on Earth? Maybe God is trying to get their attention, and I pray that every Muslim gets to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ at least once before it's too late.

Maybe it has to do with the huge gapping fault line that stretches across the Pacific.

Or Faux news screwed up again.

Then again if they told you that Christ had returned, you'd believe it.

fucking sheeple.

God seems to be severely limited, although he is supposed to be the omnipotent creator of the universe.

What makes you think Muslims don't know about Christ?

They do...they just don't worship him as a god.

Why again is this god someone I should worship?

If your god wanted to get their attention, he'd appear on Al Jazeera.

I was actually wondering how long it would take for a fundie to link Islam in indonesia and its string of disasters. Longer than I expected, as it turns out.

@ Caïn: That would involve knowing something about the outside world, and fundies are generally off in their own little world.

Shifting land masses that have many ways to shift. We know this now. Take a geoscience course for cripes' sake.

Or it could be that just about the entire Indonesian island chain is active seismically. Volcanos, earthquakes, tsunamis and mud slides (due to seismic friction) are part of daily occurance.

Muslims could argue the same thing... Every year some American town gets oblirated by some tornado or hurricane. Besides, tornados are relatively unique to the US; the chance of that happening outside of Tornado Alley are slim to none. Maybe Allah is trying to get their attention, and I pray that every Christiqn gets to hear the Koran at least once before it's too late.

Er, no, they don't. I'd go back to your parents and ask for some sort of refund, if I were you. That brain of yours clearly isn't the latest model.

"Maybe God is trying to get their attention, and I pray that every Muslim gets to hear the Gospel of Jesus Christ at least once before it's too late."

Yes, because in this deluded fool's eyes, a drowning Christian is a tragedy whereas a drowning Muslim is a good start.

It hitted other countries where muslims are not a majority. Please, go back to class and learn the meaning of TECHTONIC PLATES.

You need to take another look at your statistics, I would be very surprised if you can find a correlation between natual disasters and religion.

"Maybe God is trying to get their attention"

So your omnipotent god is sitting there, pissed off about peoples beliefs, asking itself: How in heaven can I tell them believing in Islam is unacceptable? I mean, they still believe in me but the details are all screwed up and I know details are important to me. So, I make them suffer a disaster that to intelligent people is indistinguishable from a natural occurrence. That should enlighten them! And for all others, this will tell them how worthy I am of their worship.

"wonder if all the quakes that have occured in this region over the past 2 years have anything to do with Indonesia having the largest Islamic population "

No, it has to do with all the infidel vacationers violating sharia by drinking beer and women with naked hair.

I thought they were to punish the gay Swedes who were buying up vacation property in that part of the world. We need a streamer that reports every time the eternal verities change.

Actually 30 minutes to outrun a wave is "insufficient" warning. And indeed telling the people to flee would have resulted in a collosal stampede which would have killed more people.

Oh and all the asians have to do is point out Katrina. Cause unlike the country where New Orleans is they handled the situation phenomenally well. Hell going so far as to declare ceasefires in bloody conflicts so that both sides can help people out is frankly amazing.

And unlike New Orleans who had a warning over days about the upcoming hurricane. And unlike New Orleans who are part of the most powerful and richest country on earth they still managed to pull through as human beings rather than the breakdown of social order that went along with the storm...

Actually, Indonesia does not have the largest muslim population of "all nations". India may hold that title since its extremely difficult to take a census and nigh on 40% of a billion people is close or exceeding the Indonesian population...

I do like your Jesus fellow, but I don't like these christians.

So, by this logic, the string of tornadoes, hurricanes and floods that plagues the Bible Belt every year would be...?

Muslims already pray to god, disphit.

Has anyone read The Swarm? A huge tsunami hits Europe and authorities tell people to evacuate, so they all pile into their cars, create huge traffic jams, and get killed when the wave hits. Of course authorities still have to tell people to evacuate when a tsunami is en-route, but how efficiently anyone -developing or industrial country - can evacuate a whole city at once...

I saw that report on a streamer on Fox and that a tornado warning was issued for the Bible Belt. Hmmm, wonder if all the tornadoes that have occurred in this region over the past 100 years have anything to do with the Bible Belt having the largest lunatic fringe Christian fundamentalist population of any nation on Earth? Maybe God is trying to get their attention, and I pray that every fundie stops pestering God and shoving Him in everyone else's face before it's too late.
