[Topic: Is Gum-Chewing Sinning?]

Let's Say your chewing gum in class when one of the rules clearly states "NO gum-chewing."
Would That be considered a Sin? I want to say no but when I really think about it this is what I came up with

1. God Thought of the principle [or however he plans babies]
2. Parents Gave birth to Principle
3. Principle went to school to be principle
4. became principle
5. Came up with no gum-chewing rule.

Since God guides us [or at least trys to with everyone] in everything we do. he must have guided him to do that
So disobeying the one who came up the rule [who God created and guided] would be disobeying God... right??

God thought of Hitler.

Also, it's principal.

Right so when the government creates a law saying that abortion is not murder I guess then abortion isn't a sin because it was the grace of God that let that bill pass into law right? Right?

1. God thought of Johnny Logan
2. parents gave birth to Johnny Logan
3. Johnny Logan went to school to be Johnny Logan
4. became Johnny Logan
5. Made some crappy songs.

Therefore, not listening to Johnny Logan is a sin.

Dog's Best Friend

I'll have blue cheese on my word salad, thanks!

It's so cute when they try logic for the first time.

Principle == Principal

Oh wow...

That actually is the "disciplinarian" role of religions in a nutshell.

Theistard, back to remedial spelling class!

Let's say you're posting on a forum in the English language when one of the rules clearly states that your is a possessive and you're is a contraction. You make a stupid post using your as a contraction. Would that be considered a sin? I would say yes.

Other grammatical sins:
a. Indiscriminate capitalization
b. Using the word principle to mean principal.

2/27/2008 6:18:02 PM

1) That's princiPAL, not princiPLE.
2) Unless you're younger than 12 years old, it's really sad that you don't know how babies are made.
3) Principals don't make the rules, generally. They usually answer to the superintendent, who answers to the school board, who makes the policies.
4) By your logic, any rule that anyone comes up with - no matter how arbitrary, wrong or cruel - MUST be followed, because they were (according to you) created by God.

Therefore, by your reasoning, it is wrong to overthrow dictators, and child-molesting priests are just doing their job.

You've just justified every evil despot that has ever lived to be God's faithful servants. Well done.

Don't you think your boy/girlfriend would prefer someone with more one his/her mind? If there's a rule against chewing gum in class, then don't chew gum in class. That way you won't need to worry whether it's a "sin."

So disobeying the one who came up the rule [who God created and guided] would be disobeying God... right??

A perfect justification of the devine rights of kings.

Welcome to the Middle Ages.

Down with democracy. Down with liberty. Obey those whom God has ordained as your masters and honor St. Paul's teachings. God ordains it and you will obey it...or suffer the consequences.

"Marx said 'Religion is opium of the masses', But it's more like a combination of meth and crack."

- AAA, on Fundamentalism.

Mister Spak

Using that reasoning, you must obey all sharia rules while in Saudi Arabia. That means no worshipping of your false god.

[Topic: Is Praying Sinning?]

Let's say you're praying in class when one of the rules clearly states "NO praying."
Would that be considered a sin? I want to say no but when I really think about it this is what I came up with

1. God thought of the principal [or however he plans babies]
2. Parents gave birth to the principal
3. The principal went to school to be principal
4. He became principal
5. He came up with the no praying rule.

Since God guides us [or at least tries to with everyone] in everything we do, he must have guided him to do that.
So disobeying the one who came up the rule [who God created and guided] would be disobeying God... right??

Deep Search

Remember, the principal is your PAL.

And, wtf? This is like Stephen Colbert 'I made Huckabee!' logic... It's not to be applied outside of a comedy show setting, people!

I hereby declare stupidity to be wrong.

1. God thinks of Galle (or however he plans babies in his clone-o-mat)
2. Parents give birth to Galle
3. Galle goes to school
4. Becomes functioning adult
5. Comes up with no-stupidity rule

Therefore, being stupid offends God by proxy and is thus a sin. So stop doing it!

2/27/2008 6:39:49 PM

Yeah, and God created me to go to FSTDT to tell you to STFU.

2/27/2008 6:41:51 PM

You appear to be homeschooled by a Catholic retard. Your post is virtually English-free. You show no sign of having received sex education. Furthermore, you appear to believe that people attain a position of power through divine will.

You seem best suited for a career as a WalMart greeter.

1. God Thought of Osama Bin Laden [or however he plans babies]
2. Parents Gave birth to Osama Bin Laden
3. Osama Bin Laden went to a mosque to learn to hate everyone not a Muslim
4. became a terrorist
5. Came up with al Quaida.

Same logic.

Ok, that's it. There is no hope for humanity, at all. This walking, superdense core of stupidity single-handedly cancels out the entire collected intelligence of the species.

2/27/2008 6:56:50 PM

Those rules about not having teacher-led prayer and Bible study in school? Disobeying those rules is disobeying God, too.

2/27/2008 7:15:34 PM

How come these people spend so much of their precious brainpower thinking dumb crap like this out as far as cgbigbird has, but they NEVER get all the way through "scientists want to cover up creationism!"?

Chancellor Gorkon

And on the eight day god said "Are you chewing gum in class? I hope you brought enough to share!"

Holy cow, this poster is a classic version of a right wing authoritarian personality.

"1. Authoritarian submission — a high degree of submission to the authorities who are perceived to be established and legitimate in the society in which one lives.
2. Authoritarian aggression — a general aggressiveness, directed against various persons, that is perceived to be sanctioned by established authorities.
3. Conventionalism — a high degree of adherence to the social conventions that are perceived to be endorsed by society and its established authorities. (Source: Altemeyer, 1996, Chapter 1)"
