[Story: A Jewish family has to move because of an anti-Semetic backlash due to a lawsuit against a school that promoted Christianity in public school]

I have no sympathy for people like this. They were upset because they had to listen to Christian prayers.

They make a huge mess, sue the school, raise everyone’s taxes, interfere with the majority’s religious expression and then whine people don’t like them. They used their eleven year old a wedge to get the judgement and then get upset when kids point him out as the “kid that’s suing Jesus”.

Now they get money from everyone and have to move. And they have the g**** nerve to be self-righteous. I bet they voted to raise people’s school taxes every chance they got too.

[The whole thread is just as ugly]

1) Look in the mirror on the self-righteousness.

2) This is a republic not a democracy so majority does NOT rule and oppress people.

3) Separation of church and state is critical to the functioning of our society so that we may be free - religion is always oppressive - especially yours!

I bet I Still Care goes to Europe and expects everyone to speak English for his benefit.

Classic Conservative...

Apparently they have no idea what a "Free Republic" is.

This school had no right, by law, to introduce Christian prayers under an actual free republic called America. School officials should have been fired or severly reprimended.

You Christians are not in control. If you were America would be a third world wasteland

That thread got pulled. Tee-hee!

Pie Man

Well, g**** you! (whatever g**** is, anyway)

Disregarding the obvious part, I would pay twice as much in taxes if it were going to schools instead of the Iraq quagmire.

So if a few Christians got upset and decided to sue a school that promoted Jewish (or heaven forbid, Muslim) prayers, would you be as equally offended? I think not.

The majority does not have the right to force their "religious expression" on anyone. That's why we have the First Amendment and the Bill of Rights, moron.

Oh, and the Treaty of Tripoli. Beat that.

"interfere with the majority’s religious expression"

You do not have the right to religious expression when you are at the front of a classroom. That's all there is to it. And you are a complete a-hole for suggesting that the hatred directed at this child for protesting this blatant infringement upon separation of church and state was warranted. The reason why this religious expression is not allowed is to protect minority opinions, as majority rule does not allow for one to impose religion on the rest.

I detest the fact that people are as ignorant about these issues as you are. I cannot understand why people refuse to understand the reason behind such measures, but, if you want to be indignant over something, the task becomes difficult if you are understanding, I suppose...

And by the way, if you hadn't introduced Christian prayers where your rules state plainly their not supposed to exist:

There wouldn't have been a lawsuit at all

So how much are these individual teachers, (going against their job description and violating state law) costing the American taxpayer? The money should be coming out of the individuals pocket or the church that stands behind them in this civil disobedience.

3/26/2008 2:05:22 PM

The teachers got SUED because they broke an existing LAW!

The one to blame is the one who tried to sneak religion into school, not the one who caught them red-handed!

See if you´ll hold the same opinion in Hawaii or Queens, where Christians of your denomination ARE the minority.

"And they have the g**** nerve to be self-righteous."

"Goddamn" should have six asterisks, not four.
