With God all things are possible. Jesus fed 5000 with five(5) small barley loaves and two(2) fish. He just kept on making more. God is my hero, fully capable of continuing to supply our needs indefinitely. But, that requires us Creatures to maintain our end of the bargain. Believe in Jesus, repent (turn from sin), and be baptized in the name of Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Also, I know what lay at the top of a sigmoid curve, a flatter spot where I can park my bicycle and take my rest. Afterwards, I stand back up and then I do the happy dance for my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He claps along in time to the clogging I do. After all that frivolity I glide all the way back down while yelling... YIPPEEEE!!!

Funny. He doesn't appear to be supplying a damned thing at the moment. Farmers grow our food, doctors cure our diseases, workers create our goods, and so on. What exactly is your god supplying again?

You know that bit on Family Guy when Peter has to entertain George Bush, and Bush responds by laughing and clapping like a retarded infant?

That's how I picture Jesus clapping along to this moron. Then Jesus knocks some cherubs off his cloud, bursts into tears, and throws a tantrum.

But seriously, we really should collect the names of morons like this and build a memorial to them, so when aliens stumble upon the smouldering ruins of human existance, they will know exactly who pushed us to utter enviromental collapse by overpopulating beyond what our planet could sustain.

Maybe we could leave Mark Laine's body at the foot of it, with a note begging the aliens to perform whatever function they have for removing waste matter from their bodies upon the corpse, on behalf of the rest of his species.

I wonder what the fundies would think if they found out Jesus was really a grey-skinned alien and the "Fish and Bread Miracle" was a trick out of a kid's magic set he got for Christmas from Robo Santa and the trick was performed courtesy of a Pocket Replicator (TM) that was manufactured by Nintendo? He used his Time Traveling Watch to go back in time and screw with the savages.

WOW- sounding like a nutbucket conspiracy theorist or a fundie is surprisingly easy- just make up a bunch of shit and if someone doesn't swallow this bunk hook, line, and sinker- then they are going to some horrible-sounding punishment I just dreamed up.

Why can't any Christian tell me what miracles have happened in this day and age? Or hell, even 100 years ago? Real miracles, not what one makes a miracle like finding a lost key or an extra $20 in your coat pocket or not getting killed today. Like Jesus feeding 5000 from 5. It could end starvation and hunger for, well, 5000 people if Jesus would just do it again. The parting of the red sea, or something similar, just to let his followers know that he really does exist.

Why are people now, 2000 years after Jesus's death, supposed to live and base their lives on things that happened 2000 years ago? Shouldn't there be a few more miracles to let the faithful know all is not lost? Or was god only good for one moment in time?

Ray, dear. Miracles are meant to be punctual and extraordinary, in order to be miracles. If we're stupid enough to destroy our planet and run out of resources, God is not going to help us. And anyway, do you need to "maintain the bargain"?, why doesn't God maintain the bargain himself and manifests(to make things easier)?. Or better, what is the bargain?. If it were good actions and help, in a Catholic charity fashion............well, we could survive(after all, good organisation and solidarity have turned out to be ok for the human species)but just saying "I love Jesus very much. Period"(your version of accepting Jesus as your Lord and Saviour)and hope that he intervenes(because he's sooo consistent with that)...........well, what can I say?
