Where hubby worked, there was a "nice Muslim." Most people got along with him and this guy rarely, if ever, spoke of his religion. He would often bring treats to the office that he made and the people would rave about how good they were. Well, when 9/11 happened, He CHEERED LOUDLY as he, along with the other employees, watched the buildings go down on TV. He shouted with joy that his "brothers" had succeeded and that we Americans "deserved what we got." It sure SHOCKED his fellow employees.

So:
-You're recounting an event you didn't witness, and
-This guy is cheering at the deaths of his compatriots?
No.
You're lying.
You're a dirty lying little liar.
Where hubby worked, there was a "nice American." Most people got along with him and this guy rarely, if ever, spoke of his patriotism. He would often bring treats to the office that he made and the people would rave about how good they were. Well, when the American invasion of Iraq happened, He CHEERED LOUDLY as he, along with the other employees, watched the buildings go down on TV. He shouted with joy that his "brothers" had succeeded and that we Iraqis "deserved what we got." It sure SHOCKED his fellow employees.
Can you guess what Henry Rollins song I'm thinking about?
Seriously, even if the guy thought like that, to say that sort of thing on the day he'd have to have a total death wish.
I call shenanigans...
SHENANIGANS!
I know plenty of muslims who said it was a terrible thing. Then again "deserved what we got" is also kind of true. The US support of terrorism in other countries finally came back to bite them hard. After all Israel is nowt but US sponsored state where the ghettoisation (hah!) of a minority culture based on religion (hah!)is the norm. While maintaining a military culture that dispossess many young israelis into a culture of hate which will never ever stop. I have met a fair few of their draft dodgers while travelling (quite a few like India due to the lack of rigid rules and general freedom to practice religion) and its sad. They are told all these things about palestinians (And vice versa) that just is not "true". One of them told me the punishment for a soldier killing a Palestinian child is actually smaller than draft dodging...
While Osama Bin Laden himself was once a "friend" of the US. Remember kiddies, Rambo 3 shows US thoughts on "Osama's buddies" back in the day. And the support for such people caused the formation of things such as the afghani Taliban, the NWFP, Chechnya and indeed Kashmir. Places where countless innocent people have perished thanks to the US support of "terrorism".
This is excluding the terrorism funding for the IRA and South America...
No one deserves terrorism. But to turn a blind eye to all the woe the US has caused other countries and blame it on "muslims" is not even understanding why a fair section of the world does not trust the US.
There's a slim possibility that this is true, and the Muslim had a really tasteless sense of humour. I knew a Muslim in high school who was sort of like that, but he was a good enough comedian that everyone knew he was joking. The fact that this was in Australia as opposed to the USA probably helped as well.
That said, I'm going with the odds and calling lying for Jesus, or, as FMG said, shenanigans.
*Grabs a broom*
As everyone else has said- such lies!
I seem to remember christianity having some rules about not lying, Kristine.
When I first heard about 911, my first reaction was "What's the World Trade Centre?" Seriously, I know how ignorant that makes me sound, but bear in mind I'm not American and I've never been to the US...plus that I hadn't seen the film of it happening at that point. The only time I'd ever heard of the WTC was in that Simpsons episode. I know a lot more about it now, mind you!
Man 9/11 was bad, but America did sorta train the afghans when they fought against the russians, even sold weapons like stinger missiles....
I kinda doubt this "nice Muslim" would have cheered loudly when this happened - mean in a room full of non muslims, he may have got a kicking?
Oh yes, I am sure he just celebrated right there in the office for all to see. He danced a jig, cheered loudly, and proclaimed his love for Islam. Right in the middle of his American work place, surrounded by Americans, on the day America was attacked.
I believe it. Or, not.
"Can't you Rapture Ready people tell fantasy from reality any longer?"
If they could tell fantasy from reality in the FIRST place, they wouldn't be 'Rapture Ready' now, would they?
The guy was obviously an Al Qaeda sleeper agent. He must have been programmed to dispence cookies and behave normally, but watching the 9/11 attacks was his trigger. I notice you said there "was" a nice Muslim. Where did he go? If he ran out of the building that afternoon firing an assault rifle into the air and screaming "death to the infidels", then my theory will be proven.
"We Americans"?
If he worked in the US, chances are he IS an American or at least a legal resident. Even if not legal, he obviously would be here because he WANTS to be here, with Americans. If he were here as a terrorist, he would have the tact of not letting everyone know it.
Also: Go back and read those ten commandment things you harp on so much.
kristine (in 1944): Where my hubby worked, there was a "nice Jap." Most people got along with him and this guy rarely, if ever, spoke of his ethnic country. He would often bring treats to the office that he made and the people would rave about how good they were. Well, when Pearl Harbor was attacked, He CHEERED LOUDLY as he, along with the other employees, heard the ships go down on radio. He shouted with joy that his "brothers" had succeeded and that we Americans "deserved what we got." It sure SHOCKED his fellow employees.
Weren't the rapture nuts happy about this, anyway, since it was a sign of 'the end times' or whatever? It was gawd giving people a wanring or some crap...
And, yeah, that's rather obviously a made up account.
Hm. Well, that would have been stupid of him, had it happened.
My personal reaction to 9/11 was "Against the what?" "And?" "Is there some lunch left?" and "I hope they don't decide it was our fault and bomb us."
yeah, and just before that, your hubby ran into a muslim man who'd dropped his wallet. Your husband gave him back the wallet, and the muslim was so grateful he told your husband not to go to the WTC on september 11th... yeah?
Yeah?
Fucking liar.
no one in their right mind would openly praise an attack on the country they live in, that's like booing the home team. even if you're thinking it, you don't want to get shot. it's called common sense, something you clearly lack.
What is the playground song- "liar liar pants on fire, hanging from a telephone wire?"
Yeah. My BS-meter just exploded.
Muslim who doesn't talk about his religion: Nice
Christian who doesn't talk about his religion: NOT DOING HIS JOB!
Double fuckin' standard.
Oh, and let me throw my bullshit hat into the ring.
Really? My reaction to the world trade center disaster was something like this...
"Oh great! There gonna be nothing on TV for the next few weeks but bloody news reports saying the same thing over and over again"
Man I HATE it when I'm right.
Then again "deserved what we got" is also kind of true
In a kind of utterly not true way. Christ, look what you just wrote about the deaths of more than 2,000 innocent people! Deserved it? For something politicians did and the resultant interpretation by a fundie psychopathic thug?Get a fucking grip!
Yeah, all in all, things like this HAVE happened. When 9/11 happened, some Muslims were dancing in the streets and celebrating. I may have to agree with this person in the fact that people may surprise us . So yeah, these things really happened. Sadly.
Stupid, lying bitch. I actually knew someone who *did* say how happy he was that the WTC was attacked and thousands of Americans were killed. He was Canadian, and NOT muslim. He was reacting that way, he said, because of how arrogant/stupid/egotistical/insert-stereotype-here Americans are. Lucky for him, he was smart enough to post this point of view over an instant message from a place where I couldn't get to him. I did, however, verbally rip him a new one and refuse to speak to him ever again.
Anybody that was stupid enough to put out that point of view on that day in front of Americans would've been ripped apart. You're a fucking liar.
There's enough hate in this world without you lying to further your own religious agenda. Why the fuck do you have to add more to it?
Yay, I have returned, look upon me and know me. Wait ... what's this ???
OH Kristine, you were so close ... we totally had a place set for you in Heaven. Beautiful it was, big screen tv, big comfy chair with plug in foot massager, a poster of me in front of the American flag winking and giving a thumbs up. If you'd just have obeyed my commandments just that one day longer you'd be there right now. I told ya I didn't want you lying for me. Oh well it's a damn shame but you brought it on yourself the day you decided to disobey your own religion's teachings just to support your petty rat brained tribalism.
Considering it wasn't known for several days who was responsible for the attacks, I highly doubt some random Muslim was going around cheering and taking credit when the buildings fell.
Lying for Jesus is still lying.
In the extremely unlikely event that this ever happened, then he is a world class prick. So what? You get those everywhere.
However, I am as reasonably certain that you made that up as I am that the sun rose in the east this morning.
Confused?
