Men were too lazy? What do you think they did all day, twiddle their thumbs while the women wove? They hunted their game themselves, often on foot. I don't think warriors like Geronimo, Chief Joseph, and Powahatan just randomly came out of nowhere. And do you really think the Pilgrims would have survived if it hadn't been for Squanto? He was the one to show them what was safe to eat, how to plant the crops, how to deal with the terrain. Since he knew English, he also served as a valuable diplomat. Face it, if it hadn't been for him, your precious Pilgrims would have vanished off the face of the earth like the lost Roanoke colony. Even elementary school students know that.
In some tribes, the men would contribute greatly to the agriculture, in others, they would even serve on councils. Just because they didn't have fancy rifles to shoot with (until the European explorers arrived), and didn't ride on horses and gallantly shoot foxes like European aristocrats doesn't mean they were lazy. If you ever took a look at a history book, you'd see that they were anything but.
And yes, Native Americans today know how to drive. So do many of the other hundreds of minorities that live in this country. Many of their ancestors rode on horses or chariots, does that mean they automatically don't know how to drive, through some anti-driving gene passed onto them? Are Arabs unable to drive because their ancestors rode on camels (even though one of the most common sights you see in Saudi Arabia nowadays is a Saudi oil tycoon riding around in a fancy car)?
It's called "adapting." Native Americans are very good at that, more so than you would think. Most of the time, it was whites who tried to keep them from fully assimilating into the culture because they didn't want them counted as citizens (even as they forced them to forgo their culture). They are not primitive, they are people. Which is more than I can say for you.
