"Finally, I appeal to you to think about this with a clear mind:"
And I would encourage you to do the same. I don't think you can manage it, but I would encourage it none the less.
"Why do you think that millions and millions of years is just a "short" period of time?"
Geologically and cosmologically speaking, it is. If you're viewing it from a human time frame then, yeah, it's one hell of a long time.
"It is in fact incomprehensibly long period of time!"
Agreed. Unless, of course, you're comparing it to, say, the amount of time the universe, our galaxy, our solar system or the Earth have been around. Then it's just a rather minuscule amount of time.
"Can you think to a 100 years ago?"
Sure. What, you can't comprehend or contemplate 100 years? Wow.
"The millions of millions years allow one to stick in anything they want in the millions of years!"
Not quite.
"When I say that the earth is less than 10,000 years old, and most probably only 6,000 years or so, I'm labeled a "young" earth creationist."
Because that's what YEC's (god, I love that acronym) believe you twit. Also, your "probably only 6,000 years or so" is completely, utterly, entirely and wholly unfounded.
"Think about this - 6000 years is a LONG LOOOOOOONG time."
Sure if you only live 80 or 90 years, maybe 110 on the very extreme end of things. Again, you're comparing apples (human lifespans) to oranges (the amount of time the universe has existed).
"It's not young."
Trust me, six thousand years is young when compared to the accepted 4.5 billion or so years the Earth has existed. And it's really young compared to the 14 billion or so years the universe has been around.
"The only reason we think this way anymore is because of how the media are promoted the "millions of years is like yesterday" idea."
In the grand scheme of things, millions of years is "like yesterday."
