Dear Bishop, neither you, or your church, has the right to preach to other on questions of morality.
Your church is up to its neck in moral scandal because of pedophile priests that were protected and sheltered against justice by that same church when morality demanded that they should be handed over to the state for punishment - and for the protection of the young. A notable moral failure by guardians of morality, would you not agree? It was imperative, however,that the Church be protected, even at the expense of the innocence of the young, so priests were moved on to other areas where they were unknown, thus enabling them to resume their pedophile activities with impunity. A moral choice by the Bishops.
And yet you presume to preach against gays?
As a bishop of the Roman Catholic Church you are a representative of an organisation that remained silent in the face of one of the greatest sins ever committed on the face of this sad planet. I refer, of course, to the Nazi Genocide. The main thrust of the Final Solution was against the very people of him whom you claim as Lord - the Jews. Oh yes. Let us be very clear. All those familiar names in the bibles were Jews. Only a few exceptions really. But you, as an intelligent man, carefully choose to close your mind and your eyes to the facts. Not only Jews were the victims of Zyklon B gas. Roma Gypsies were too. The Germans paraded the Jews of Rome in trucks in front of the Basilica of Saint Peter's when they were bringing them to the railhead for shipment to the death camps. Silence from Pius XII.
A moral choice by the Pope.
He and his Curia should have immolated themselves under the wheels of the trucks to delay or prevent their departure to the destruction of his Lord's people.

But Pius was a Germanophile, was he not? So he and his coterie of cardinals did nothing except scandalise decency and life itself.
Now, seemingly taking your lead from the former Pope you show yourself in denial that a substantial number of homosexual people too travelled that same unimpeded via dolorosa as the Jews. Perhaps the past moral failures are just too inconvenient for you and your church. In avoiding the truth you are a guilty as any who denies the holocaust of the Jews - a crime, punishable at law in some countries.
Morality à la carte.
Now in the city where martyrs willingly sacrificed themselves for their Lord, there reigns a German Pope - a former member of the Hitler Youth. Also a former Grand Inquisitor - for change the name as you will, the Congregation of the Doctrine of the Faith is still the Inquisition. And this Pope still happily condemns gays. His moral, however, standing is less than firm. For all the apologists who claim that being a member of the Hitler Youth was compulsory, it was still possible to say an heroic 'No', and take the consequences. This would have required great moral courage. Evidently the young Ratzinger didn't have this courage.
Another moral choice failure.
That choice is now an albatross around his neck. Other in Germany were planning the downfall of Hitler and paid with their lives - young people, guillotines after show trials. So who could take moral teaching or example from such a one, who failed the test of Truth. Or from those who follow him and give him their allegiance.
I am sorry, Bishop. The moral foundations on which you build your edifice are not Rock/Petrus/Kephas. They are the sands of convenience, cynical pragmatism and one's own best interest. Morality plays no part in it.
To preach as you do about gays is, in the light of my argument, incitement to hatred, irresponsible of possible consequences and cynically hypocritical.
It might help if you took the beam from you eye. Then perhaps you would see more clearly the facts that I have merely outlined... Or perhaps self-interest has safely and forever coccooned you from ever taking such an honest step.
And your Holy Father, whom you, no doubt, serve faithfully.
To me, you and your organisation are shams. The tests that would have proved your worth in the modern world have been shamefully botched and failed. Do not, therefore, arrogate unto yourselves any moral authority.
You have not right to do so, for you have none!
