Who wants to marry a girl who has had spiritual members added unto her? Or a girl marry a boy who has many members added unto him that was never intended? Think about it! Knowing that a girl has had sex with another, or with many others. How could the boy ever trust in her? How could his heart ever trust safely?

What young lady would want to marry a man that has been sexually active with others. Knowing that he could very well be thinking of them while he is looking at you!

The Devil has really thrown a curve ball in this issue! He has made sex outside of marriage appealing and desirable. He has made it appear harmless. Nothing could be further from the Truth about Sex! Young lady, and Young man, please do not join your body to another. Please flee fornication. For the mental health of your self later on, please avoid any kind of touching among yourselves! Obey God's Words, and you shall have a wonderful, exciting, pleasurable Marriage later on!

Hey, guys...I didn't know you all had "Spiritual" members!

So, do they sing old spiritual songs...fly around the room covered in a sheet (yea, right...more like making a tent covered with a sheet), wave little pom-poms?

Or is that what they have been talking about all these years when they say the "Holy Spirit"? And if so, does that mean your members are holy? And if they are holy, then isn't it your job to infuse all the fundie gals with the Holy Spirit Member? Or does just the thought of that break your spirit?

Maybe a couple shots of spirits will make it better? Or would that mean you are only there in spirit? Naw......I say get into the spirit of things and go for it.

Go get those Spiritual Members working for the Lord! Those girls need a good shot of the Holy Spirit! Or they could at least take communion at the altar of the Holy Spirit Member.

I'm...not sure why so many of you are leery about pre-marriage chastity. I would think that for ANY two people, experience (and so, sexual attunement) would have to start at zero. You don't need experience to know the baseline mechanics (biology class and sex education can take care of that part). I don't see how previous pairings are going to put it at somewhere besides zero, nor that any kind of sexual dissonance (at least, of the sort that doesn't involve foisting sex upon one partner, willing or no) is unconquerable. (Never mind that the mutual attunement is supposed to be part of the fun...And I was under the impression that those early pairings were under conducted under the belief that THEY'D be permanent...I'm not going to be worried about the mentality behind engaging in sex if the quality of permanence is allied with it)

(And yes, I'm chaste myself. Why, what's your point?)

All this talk of spiritual members makes my skin crawl. Sounds like a bad horror movie.

Skynight, I assume by "Chaste" you mean you are a virgin. If so, then I hope your reliance on our evolutionary past to guide you in what you are doing works for your partner. If you are not, then you do need to get out more. Sex Ed teaches nothing about techniques or even basic sexual compatibility between two people. Two people may be great together, but in the bed...nothing. It's best to find out these things before you spend a fortune on a ceremony (or even just a much smaller function and a civil ceremony). Most people I know, especially the women (I believe them to be more honest about this in my experience, as guys tend to want to keep their egos up more) say that their first time was, if not really a disaster, then not great. Sex, like everything else about us human beings who lost a lot of instinct when our brains evolved, takes practice.

That said, as a high school teacher, I encourage abstinence because I do not think my kids are emotionally, intellectually, and/or materially ready for the responsibilities and problems that come with sex, especially if they have not had their sex ed classes and/or don't use protection. Adults can do what they want to themselves.

There is a difference, Skynight, between being abstinent for your own welfare, and the demeaning way this guy is presenting the humankind. Is everybody who doesn't convey a mere guideline on sexuality less worthy because of that(as this guy presents the situation)?. Are widows and widowers, divorcees and raped and molested people less worthy of marrying?. Is the world divided into whores and mothers, as he suggestes, even if we have to thank him his more gender neutral language?. And Skynight, I'm sorry to tell you, but the older you get, the less capacity to comprenhend sex you have. I have talked to people who "saved themselves to marriage", and they tell me that the beginnings were horrible. So horrible that they were considering if all that waiting was worth(specially if they marry in their late teens or early thirties). I have talked to people who didn't wait until the ring, and they told me similar things. Why?, because human sexuality has a strong psychological component. This guy is utterly ridiculous and shallow. Who wants to marry a girl who has spirits added unto her?. Anybody who really values her as a human being and understands that sexual experiences are not that deterministic. After all, what happened to that Marquis who married a prostitute, wondered Rousseau in his meditations?, that they lived happily ever after.

{quiet chuckle} At least keep in mind that you're talking to someone with Asperger's Syndrome. The germane part here (to some measure, at least) is a VERY low social quotient, coupled with my prizing of permanence and distrust of instinct and temporariness. In any case, I'm more worried about completing my education and securing a career; once those are dealt with, THEN maybe I'll have a proper foundation to justify seeking a relationship (I'm not about to play the part of the parasite to any magnitude; I'm not willing to dishonor a woman like that). Just so we're clear, I regard myself as an apatheistwhether or not God exists has no influence on the nature of good and evil.

Anyway...I get the feeling that Unknown thinks that promiscuity leads to either demonic possession or constant distraction by previous beloveds. I can see how the latter might be a trouble (although I'm not sure how any of them could have ended if no discord or the like was involved...q.v. strength of pair bond), but does he/she truly think that if the two work at it, any such distraction cannot be overcome? Besides, the presence of the newer partner is going to be difficult to ignore. Maybe he/she just reminds his/her partner in some positive way of a previous beloved? Unless this is very constant, it may actually be a good sign, an indication that at least some part of the relationship is progressing very much to her/his standards...

({sigh} I hope that's decipherable...)

Skynight, let's be honest, a guy who says such nonsense as "spiritual members added unto her" can only be a total idiot. One, for using such a ridiculous language who makes him look what he's not, INTELLIGENT. Second, for having such a low opinion of humankind. If he had just said, "don't have sex before marriage because it's better for you. You won't catch STD, will provoke an unwanted pregnancy and your relationship with your future spouse(or spouses, nobody knows what can happen)will be more significant", he wouldn't be here, regardless if we agree with him or not. The problem is in which pruddish and demeaning terms he paints sex and humankind. One thing it's to say that sex shouldn't be misused(which I agree)and other to say that it's something dirty until you get married is false. It's the same sex and, only if it goes associated with a determined life style, is more gratifying. What the hell?. Marriage is just a piece of paper. It's not a kind of vaccine against infidelity, bankrupcy, sexual disfunctions, unwanted pregnancies(remember that money doesn't grow from trees), etc..........it's the person who can overcome those difficulties.

Each to their own. If chastity is working for you, go for it.
Some of us are nearly as foolish as 'Unknown', thinking our preferred behaviour and values should apply to everybody. Most of us however, are annoyed at his presumption in prescribing 'one size fits all'. Almost all of us are hysterically laughing at his fear of his woo gibberish- spiritual members being added by sex!
The Fundy sexual obsessions are persistent memes from pre-scientific times. Lacking contraception, paternity tests, prophylactics, antibiotics or even the germ theory of disease, they saw God's curse in unwanted conception or venereal disease. (God's curse or Demonic activity- they hold to both theories. Strange how they can't tell the difference.)
The memes still see demonic activities, even though we do know the science behind those things. Which makes it sad that they call the site "Truth4Teens".
