Global warming at a church Bible study for youth? Sounds more like an indoctrination session aimed at impressionable young minds. That's rather clever...to sneak the liberal agenda into a church youth gathering.

Funny how the Xians think theres nothing wrong with taking kids out of school to homeschool (read: indoctrinate) and trying to have laws passed to make Creationism a compulsory thing in Science classes, continually shitting on the ToE while reading from Genesis, trying to make the Ten Commandments law and attempting to ban women's rights. That's all nice and conservative and normal.
But when its "teh libs" trying to make a point heard, they are drowned out by screams of: "Indoctrination! Evil! Poisoning our childrens minds!"
*sigh* Maybe one day they will all look in the shiny mirror and realise...
Youth Pastor 1: Hey, psst, I have a really sneaky plan...
Youth Pastor 2: Cool, what is it?
Youth Pastor 1: I figured out how we can sneak the liberal agenda into our next church youth gathering.
Youth Pastor 2: Oh sweet I've always wanted to sneak the liberal agenda into our youth gatherings. What's the plan?
Youth Pastor 1: I was thinking we should have a global wamring indoctrination session, aimed at impressionable young minds.
Youth Pastor 2: Wow, that's awefully sneaky. We could definitely sneak in the liberal agenda doing that.
Youth Pastor 1: Rather clever isn't it?
Oh... That's a shiny, shiny mirror!
What is it with fundies and global warming now; it seems to be getting to the point that it bothers you as much as evolution does. Is this just part of the whole anti-science thing you have going here. If scientists say it, it's a conspiracy against you?
Yes...a Bible study for youth does sound like an indoctrination aimed at impressionable young minds...luckily, they added in the part about teaching global warming to at least make it so they come out of the mind-warping sessions with a little bit of actual, accurate information.
Hmmm... So fundies are allowed trying to sneak biblical indoctrinations into public schools, but not the other way around?
My spider senses are tingling. Yes! They're telling me this is the putrid stench of double standards.

Cool Cats:
The alliance between the fundie cons and the corporate cons is that the corps supply the noney and the fundies supply the votes to win elections. Then the corps make anti abortion noises to make the fundies happy and the fundies oppose environmental protection so the corps can make more money.
It's been going on so long that a new generation of fundies grew up hearing this and assume the bible says global warming can't happen or air quality standards are satanic or something like that.
Here's a two-birds-one-stone solution: When we give the fundies their own country, make it the north pole. Then when they find the ground melting away from under them and their houses tumbling into the sea, they either return to civillisation to help with aiding the environment, or they drown praying for God to send more glaciers. For us, it's a win/win.
I really think we should round them all up and stick them behind a fence with nothing that was invented after 1611.
I'm sure God will save them all.
Edit:
Septic Sceptic beat me to it. But I don't see why it has to be the North Pole. Think of the poor polar bears. Antarctica is classified as protected now, so it can't be there. Personally I was just thinking of fencing off Kansas.
From what I've read about the youth Christian movement(s), a lot of them are concerned about "liberal" (i.e., actual global problems) issues: they are more worried about global warming and Darfur than, say, just how evil two men who love each other very much, that they've never met are who want equal rights under the law.
And a lot of people of my generation (Gen Y, the Nintendo Generation, Generation Internet, etc.) aren't concerned about homosexuality because, well...it's almost certainly, if not definitely, genetic and if they love each other, how do we know Jesus wouldn't approve? He never even mentioned homosexuality. He mentioned brothers taking care of and loving each other, so why not?
But of course, the Conservative movement as a whole (i.e., the older generations) see our concerns and say esentially "Oh no! Caring about people just like evil liberals! Whatever will we do!"--Despite the fact, of course, that Jesus was actually a liberal himself.
Hypicrital pricks. DIAF and let the US catch up with the rest of the world. Maybe then they won't dislike us so much like they do now.
You stupid psycho jeezoid assholes work like the devil's own to cram your creationist garbage into high-school science classes, and then get all pissed off when someone tries to put a little actual science into your church groups?
It's called HYPOCRISY, mother fuckers, and I'm calling you on it.
I guess it is because you are far more afraid of fading into the outer fringes of irrelevance (which you are already doing) than you are of going to hell when you die.
"A church Bible study for youth? Sounds more like an indoctrination session aimed at impressionable young minds. That's rather clever..."
Not even Fixed, just cropped.
OMFG, look out! A liberal agenda! Run, run for your lives before it goes all Democratic ninja on our collective fat, not indonctrinated at all praisebetotheLordlettheinfidelssuchasjewshomosexualsandanyonewhodoesntfollowourfaithbeburntinhellandwearestillthemostcaringreligionobviouslydespitebeing100%prodeathpenalty asses! EEEEK, the agenda is looking at me with its horrible ideas of free speech and equal rights and protection for the environment!!!
It looks like someone forgot how to use a word processor. I think I've figured out what it's supposed to mean.
Awareness for global warming at a [can't guess this part, some form of public place] to show a liberal and conservative common ground on saving the earth.
A church Bible study for youth? Sounds more like an indoctrination session aimed at young minds. That's a rather clever way to sneak a fallacious agenda at a church youth gathering.
The real question. How did this document become so insanely and bizarrely edited?
Yeah, next thing you know they'll start telling the kids that Jesus wants them to feed the hungry, visit the sick, reach out to lonely people and welcome strangers as friends.
More liberal rubbish that has nothing to do with Jesus!
So, you agree that a church Bible study for youth is an indoctrination session aimed at impressionable young minds?
Oh noe! Don't sneak reality into our cozy fairy-tale session! Teh HORROR!!!
Honey, the debate isn't about whether or not Global warming is happening; that debate is long over. The debate is about how much of it is caused by humans, and what we can do to reduce it, and hopefully in time reverse it.
Intelligent design in a public school science class? Sounds more like an indoctrination session aimed at impressionable young minds. That's rather clever...to sneak the religious agenda into a public school science gathering.
That's what you meant to say, isn't it?
Confused?
