Who are we to say they should be over it by now?]
Try reading the Bible......the Lord says that they should be over it.

You are a disgusting excuse for a human being, devoid of compassion, empathy, or the milk of human kindness.
You'll never make it to your heaven this way. And I think that's a very good thing.
(This comment is totally coming from the annoyance I feel today about other things, so there you have it. Disclaimer!)
Let's try punching you in the face until we break your nose. Don't worry - God will tell you when to get over it. And if he doesn't... Well, guess you're not a True Christian (tm) are ya?
It's true, I checked it out. It actually says so in the bible.
Page 143, paragraph 4 reads:
"And then the Lord said uppon to them, 'Thou shouldst be overeth it'"
what ? Does this damn book have an answer to everything ?
"Hey, how many eggs go in a pancake ?"
"Hold, lemme check the bible. Doesn't have an answer, should've bought a cookbook."
"And so sayeth the Lord: Ye who hath been enslaved, who hath been discriminated against, who hath, to this very day, been shown bigotted hatred by the bold and general disease by the meek, and who shall for great amount times hence remain inferior to your oppressors entirely due to their unwillingness to see to otherwise, I command ye to get over it. Quit being such pansies about it." (Leviticus 3:19).
I find it ironic that you think that your God would ever tell someone to "get over it", considering how long He has been able to maintain a grudge against Satan and the entirety of humanity for the most inane things.
"And the Lord said unto the race, 'Thou shalt have gotten over it' And they gottened over it, and it was gotten over by all, and it was good"
- Bullshit, 11:44
[I'm assuming they're talking about the racial tension caused by slavery and then segregation?]
Well...
Jesus was all about loving and forgiving even people who had done you wrong, all that cheek-turning, extra-mile-going, tunic-and-cloak-giving, etc. So I can sort of kind of see where this idea could be coming from.
Actually the bible says they should of stayed submissive little slaves.
Fortunately others felt differently. But if you read her posts, she's a completely racist bitch who would make Landover proud. She's probably one of the people who write asking to join their church.
@Truthuser: The correct train of thought is:
"Hey, how many eggs go in a pancake ?"
"Hold, lemme check the bible. Doesn't have an answer, we should stay away from that pagan hellfood."
Rotteronomy, 7:11
And the Lord spaketh unto he who speakest of that he does not comprehend: "A false witness ye are, HisAlways. Go seat thineself in a corner and read thy Bible. Find me the passage where I sayeth they should be over it and I will spare thy foolish ass from pwnage on FSTDT."
Last I heard, HisAlways was still looking.
I admit, I'm not an expert on the bible. I can't recite verses or where they are in the book. But, I know pretty much about it having read it and done some research on it. But, for the life of me, I cannot recall a single part of the bible that says Africans enslaved in the Americas until the mid 1800's get 150 years to get over it. Nor do I have any idea where it says years upon years of prejudice and abuse and being treated as less than human must be gotten over in a matter of a few decades.
What am I missing?
You have not yet gotten over the fact that Jesus was killed by the Romans 2000 years ago, have you? Even though the whole reason he was created was to die for you and everyone knew he had to die, you still can't get over the fact that he did die.
Don't you think 2000 years is more than enough time to get over it?
I am still not over some of the scars. Probably because the Bible was used to justify my neighbour molesting me. Plus it has quite a bit about god being an asshole, it contradicts itself, it is incomplete, and it leaves out historical facts. More reason not to trust it I'd say
People really should get over things.
But that's the problem: if racist attitudes still persist, it's kind of hard to forget what happened, now isn't it?
In any case, did your husband give you permission to post? Silly Rapturite, opinions are for Christian MEN!
(And while I'm at it, Captain Hooker would be a damn awesome superhero. Sounds like something out of a C&H comic.)
How long ago was it that Romans threw Christians to the lions?
Oh yeah, two thousand years.
So maybe it's the Christians who should be over their little persecution complex, not people who were slaves a mere hundred years ago.
Jesus tells people to 'get over' racism, now?
God and they're comparing Obama to Hitler in their comments? WTF?
I agree. They should get over racism. We should never have to talk about such times again.
(200 years later)
"Keep working, nigger! Pathetic excuse for a human!"
"Try reading the Bible"
Never have, have you?
Last I checked, the bible still endorsed slavery and separation from "foreigners."
Perhaps its the bible that we need to get over.
Confused?
