I think it has more to do with blind patriotism and arrogance that some exhibit, that's causing such a decline.

Someone once said that if God doesn't punish America then He'd have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah. I don't think this is something that we can stop.
Yet silent he remains. Surely, if we're so far gone, he'd at least poke through the clouds, and give us a "come on guys, seriously."
