"I don't know if it's just me or what, but something hit me today. The bible tells us if we abandon Israel that we will be cursed by God...and does it not seem as if when a few months ago Bush got Israel & Palestine to come to an "agreement" America has been hit time and time again by stronger and longer storms...now maybe I'm wrong, but it seems that way to me."

I heard that people wear shorts more in summer than winter.
Ice cream sales are significantly higher in summer than winter.
Ice cream makes people wear shorts.
Attempts to promote peace results in stormier weather?
I'd ask you how ridiculous that sounds, but you're the fucking idiot that wrote it.
Play nice....the poor fundie's already admitted to being hit by something today. You can't blame him for not thinking straight.
dkwannabe, go with your first conclusion. You know, the one about being wrong. It's safer that way.
"now maybe I'm wrong,... "
I reckon you should have stopped there and saved yourself the embarrasment!
Where are these storms that you speak of? And how is helping bring about an "agreement" abandoning Israel? Even if it is ineffectual, we are still doing a damned good amount to support them, and thankfully they are probably our only real ally in the Middle East due to that. Isn't that good enough?
So if Israel were to, say, recognise same-sex marriages, if only those performed abroad, then you'd be cursed by God if you didn't agree with that, right?
Um...has it occurred to you that the Israel of today is not the Israel of the bible? What if the Holocaust victims who settled there (by dispossessing the Palestinians) had named it Canaan or Nod or Xlotchitl...would you be so eager to support it?
If I name my big, beautifully landscaped garden "Eden," will you send me money to maintain and defend it? (There aren't any evil apple trees in it, just holy nectarines and blessed oranges.)
I don't know if it's just me or what, but something hit me today.
...in the head.
...and it must have caused at least a mild concussion.

Many countries that do not support Israel at all are doing quite well. Also there are storms every year, and every year I hear people harping on how they are punishment and that we much kill [insert group I randomly hate here] to stop them.
And the Bible tells 'us' that? You do realize that your nation only came into being less than 250 years ago, right?
Well, at least now I know why I've had to endure the second snowiest winter in history here in my neck of the woods. There isn't a person alive who has seen this much snow here in ole' Southeast Wisconsin.
Bush brought it all on! Like every other ill this country currently faces, he is also responsible for the most miserable winter of my life.
It's nice to know I can blame the dickhead for that as well as everything else that is currently wrong with this country.
I do not, however, understand how attempting to bring peace (which, let's face it, is not the man's strong suit) would bring bad weather?
Actually, the US government has been consistently rejectionist in the peace process, as their veto record in the UN indicates. Why? Peace in the Middle East simply does not serve US political designs.
THe bible tells you that if you abandon Israel you will be cursed by god BECAUSE it was written by ancient Israelis and is therefore another form of propaganda.
Natural disasters have happened in the world LONG before the bible was written.
/supajoo begins angry rant; prepare for intense anger.
please, PLEASE, PLEASE!!!! Could all of the fundies out there PLEASE stop defending Israel! I am a zionist for purely non-religious reasons. Fundies only put a bad name on zionism with this sort of fucked up bullshit. It's like trying to prove advance the civil rights movement with Louis Farrakhan and rev. Jesse Jackson in charge. Don't fucked in the head Christians have anything better to do!?!?!
Israel doesn't need any fucking fundies, nor did it ask for any, nor does it want any!!!
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
