Anyone else think of that part in The Birdcage where Nathan Lane's character says almost exactly the same thing?
----
"Since pro-choicers think it's okay to abort (Which is what aborting fetuses is), and I support the death penalty - A life for a life, or a life for a bunch of lives, or maybe a life for a rape.... We should just allow early-term abortions in the case of rape, and you get one free one you can use whether or not you were raped."
Translation: You can have as many as you want if you convince me you're not a slut, and you get one free chance at one anyway!
How do you plan to enforce such a law, anyway? How can you prove she was raped? And what makes a fetus conceived through rape any less important than one conceived through consensual sex?
"They're like "free abortion" tickets, and you can trade them.
That way the mother, baby, pro-choicers, and I are happy. "
It's interesting that you talk about such a serious issue as if it were all black-and-white, and as if women and fetuses were just commodities.
Women aren't going to be okay with you limiting their choices and interfering with their lives no matter how you try to sugarcoat it.
