I never said new species are still being created by God. Animals mix breeds, thus making new species. That's just DNA.

Name three.
In fact, just to make it easier, I'll give you two: mule and liger.
Name one more.
The sad thing is you're actually confirming the distorted, bizarre and frankly made up idea creatards like to think evolution is rather than attacking actual evolution.
It really doesn't get much more fail than that.
If that's the case, then the ark dude would have finished his mythical joyride with some interesting new specimens. Unfortunately, responsible journalism did not exist back then in Dreamtime, so we'll never know.
Sorry, it must be quoted:
Deb: What are you drawing?
Napoleon: A liger.
Deb: What's a liger?
Napoleon: It's pretty much my favorite animal. It's like a lion and a tiger mixed... bred for its skills in magic.
To my knowledge, only related species-such as tigers and lions, who are both felines-can interbreed, and the vast majority of species hybrids are sterile. Also, breeds are not species-the varying breeds of dogs are just breeds of one species, I believe.
"Nothing fundie about this one. The comment betrays ignorance, sure, but it is not fundie in and of itself. "
In context it was much more fundy. It was an explanation of how evolution is unnecesary for new species to come about. I wouldnt have submitted it if this was her only outbreak of retard in the thread though.

While I totally agree with your sentiment, the mule and the liger are not, strictly speaking, new species. The Lion (Panthera Leo) and Tiger (Panthera Tigris) are both Panthera genus. The Liger is simply a cross-breed, not a new species. The horse (Equus Caballus) and donkey (Equus Asinus) are both of the Equus genus, so the mule is also a cross-breed, not a new species.
New environments created by geological upheaval can accelerate the formation of new species.
Schluter is studying the evolution of the stickleback as a result of a period of upheaval. Since the final retreat of the glaciers in British Columbia, thousands of variants of the original stickleback species, still found in coastal marine waters, have formed in freshwater. The freshwater fish include brand-new species, as well as populations at the intermediate stages of evolution.
He is able to cross-breed the new species in the lab, although they refuse to mate in the wild.
Confused?
So were we! You can find all of this, and more, on Fundies Say the Darndest Things!
