The biggest claim made in the Bible is that Jesus rose from the dead. We know this to be true because it was documented independently by 4 different authors

"Independently" as in, within the Bible? Or, "independently" as in by authors 100 years after the fact, or even after the Gospel accounts were driving people to giddily proclaim their faith in order to become martyrs at the hands of Roman executioners? Either way, [citation needed].

A+ good sir
The truth is there, being presented for you, and you don't want it.
So long as that praying is silent, It'll suit us all well.
Ok...so using your criteria for it to be "true", you must also believe that aliens crashed at Roswell?
That has been documented by a lot more than 4 authors.
Dumb-ass of epic proportions.
If those independent different authors are the four Gospels, St Matthew, St Mark, St Luke and St John, they're all contained in the NT, which is a part of the Bible. Better luck next time!!
The only thing that all 4 of them managed to write was that Jesus rose from the dead 3 days after his execution. All the details are mixed up, kinda like if you're trying to retell a story you heard years ago and really only remember the most important part. I also find it highly ammusing that they all write about things that happened in their absense and contradict each other there too (considering to get such information they'd have to ask the same sources).
Details wrong or not, it's clear to those historians who study such things that only one of them is original and the rest derived. And even the original is long after the life span of anyone capable of writing an eye witness account.
So, you lose. Please try again (or learn to think).
That's just a little deceptive.
You know, I bet I could find four different authors that would independently verify that our world is secretly ruled by reptilian aliens. Will Jasper Jackson believe that if I do?
Great, independently documented by four authors? Cool, who are they? All we have is the stuff by Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John in the Bible, not exactly what you would call independent(unless you call product ad copy and propaganda writers independent)! Still waiting for their names of these new, unbaised guys.
Lots of authors have written about elves, does that mean they exist?
Or did Cthulhu eat them all, since quite a few people have written about Lovecraft's mythos too.
How much more true must the characters in Star Trek be, given that they have been documented independently by Geoff Thorn, Peter David, Michael Okuda, Chris Bennett, David Tischman, Adam Lebowitz, David Mack, Andy Mangels and Michael A. Martin, plus many, many others?
I think we can even make a good case for including Conan in the history books now, can't we? (Robert E. Howard, Roy Thomas, L. Sprague De Camp and Lin Carter)
UFO's have been documented too. But, you have to know who is doing the documenting and why. And, it helps to have witnesses and others who have seen and experienced the same thing - and then document in the same way. Your bible has four different stories; none give validation to any of the others. You believe it because you want to believe it, not because it is fact.
Jesus rising has no more valid evidence than the guy who got beamed up from the middle of the desert.

Yep, independant. The four people obviously had nothing to do with one another, and probably had never even met previously, so they're completely independant and unbias.
Oh wait...
Four that aren't in the old testament. Why?
Oh, and the old testament doesn't even contain related scrolls.
It's not even what their saying, it's whats not being said . The Hebrews (first?) version is mostly unrecognized, even by jews.
Then add to that: Most of it's borrowed then rewritten to connect.
it's all one over-written disjointed mess.
Again: It doesn't even agree with itself
I can't put a number on the independently documented EYE WITNESS accounts of the miracles of Sai Baba there are in the world today but I can guarantee it's a lot more than 4. I guess you should hop on the next plane to India, bring your kids too, he likes kids.
And how about the gospels that recount the resurrection that didn't make it into the bible, such as the Gospel of Phillip? They were rejected as false. If there were false accounts circulating, how do we know that any of the four canonical gospels are accurate, especially since they do not agree on the facts of the event?
"We know this to be true because it was documented independently by 4 different authors "
4 of my friends said i was at the library last night, so they couldn't have been making it up so i could go to a party...
A lie repeated four times, or even four billion times, is still a lie. Now if they'd had CCTV or cellphones with video cameras back then we may have some evidence of this - but we'd still suspect that it was a trick anyway.
Dead people stay dead. That's why we call them, er, dead.
Confused?
