The other thing that came out of an encounter with this liberal is an underlining of the spiritual war that we're in. He couldn't understand why we don't let our kids read Harry Potter and other stuff. There's a deep spiritual darkness around all of this and people who aren't seeking light as we know it do not see the darkness of the left. It's more than just socialism. It's a spiritual malignancy.

If Obama wins, it's definitely time to start stocking up on necessities and getting ready for tough times.

The magnitude of what we're up against is incredible. This is a tremendous spiritual war and my liberal friend has no idea that he's in it and has no idea that he's on the wrong side.

That's cause he has something you don't: Sanity.

If Obama wins, and it sets the course for the "rapture", why would they want to stock up? They won't be needing it when they get sucked up into the sky like a cheap vacuum cleaner.

"...people who aren't seeking light as we know it..."

Isn't that a really over-elaborate way of saying "those who refuse to be assimilated into the collective"?

An encounter with a liberal?? How did you even let that happen? You better get back under your rock! There are invisible wars and supernatural cancers to combat, man!

The 'liberal friend' has to be buddies with this nutter for the lulz. Otherwise I don't know how they could stand to be around someone so... special.

Your nickname is Frodo and you object to Harry Potter. Uh huh.

What it's incredible is how you consider so disproportionately threatening a book whose content you don't know.

DRAMA DRAMA DRAMA

In my Senior year Bible class, in my religious private school, this is what we talked about:

50% of the time we talked about the Rapture (I'm serious. I think it's because the Rapture and fulfilled prophecy and the New World Order are more exciting than the rest of the Bible...that's why people obsess over it)

25% of the time we talked about bullshit minutae like the heirarchy of angels, etc.

15% of the time we talked about the evil worldly Liberal evolutionist scientists who were out to destroy our faith

10% of the time we talked about "pet sins," like homosexuality

0% of the time we talked about, y'know, being a good person, or helping your neighbor, or...y'know...anything that Jesus alledgedly talked about.

The funny thing is, all the time the pastor was telling us (it being our Senior year) that if we went to a secular college, we would lose our faith. But my Senior year at a religious private school destroyed my faith more than any college ever could.

The other thing that came out of an encounter with this liberal is an underlining of the spiritual war that we're in.

- Imagination running wild!

He couldn't understand why we don't let our kids read Harry Potter and other stuff.

- Their imaginations might be sparked to read something other than the bible? Afraid of that? Afraid they might develop intelligence?

There's a deep spiritual darkness around all of this and people who aren't seeking light as we know it do not see the darkness of the left.

-When, according to your bible, god was creating, he didn't create the Light first! 'And darkness was upon the face of the deep', remember? Now who created this darkness? It can only have been God, for he is the creator, accroding to Creationism.

It's more than just socialism. It's a spiritual malignancy.

- Strange, socialism is practised by the most cultured and wealthy countries on the planet and it happens to coincide very much with what Jesus taught - to look after those who cannot look after themselves. It's just selfishness and meanness, the real malignancies, that makes people turn from doing good.

If Obama wins, it's definitely time to start stocking up on necessities and getting ready for tough times.

- I'd be doing it already, regardless of who becomes president. America under GWB has built up so much hatred and resentment against itself in the world of Islam that will take longer than the legacy of the Crusades to dissipate.

The magnitude of what we're up against is incredible.

- Yes. Agreed. And all thanks to a crazy, stupid, selfish and self-serving administration and an illegal war started by a lunatic president.

This is a tremendous spiritual war

- Bullshit. It nothing spiritual. It's about some fools in America who happened to get into power wanting to shape the world in their own image, regardless of the outcome. They went in ignorant of what they were taking on, and they have the blood of Iraq and dead Americans on their hands.

and my liberal friend has no idea that he's in it and has no idea that he's on the wrong side.

Liberal is an honorable word. Fundies and wider American perversion of the true meaning of this word is to be deplored. Check it in a proper dictionary.

Better than you are

I have always thought it hillarious that some people might actually consider a work of fiction like Harry Potter to be harmful. Just because children actually like the book, doesn't necessarily mean there's something harmful hidden deep inside!

Paranoid delusions, most likely (given the description here) a result of finding your life to be too dull and meaningless without them.

Either that, or there is no spiritual war and you have no idea that you're not caught up in it.

I'm glad you finally found a mirror.

"It's spiritual malignancy"

I could not agree with your self-assessment more.
