Bob is using a typical demagogic method of bias and non-true Scotchman. Everytime there is something which utterly unacceptable done by the typical "man" he tries to defend and gives patriarchy and his ideology a bad name, he usually goes ballistic either giving right to the person who did it, either inventing a story behind which has nothing to do with what really happened, or says, as in this case, that it's all a conspiracy.
However, if the very same thing is done by a woman, automatically becomes wrong.
