Quote# 37012

God loves people who are in Hell. Those in Hell can't feel that love, but the reality of Hell does not alter the reality of his love. When Jesus sees people in Hell, he weeps.

that's the only way i can express my thoughts.

If it hurts Jesus' feelings so much, why dosen't he take the people out of hell?
Or maybe he could just stop looking at them if it disturbs him so much.

4/8/2008 3:03:47 AM

Then why did he put them there?!

4/9/2008 1:33:50 AM

If he really feels bad about it, why not do something about it?

At least this is a nice change from those who've said that God throws people in there and doesn't care (and they point and laugh).

I'm getting mixed messages here.

then why are they in Hell?

4/9/2008 4:47:59 AM

You mean just like Hitler wept when he sent Jews to Auschwitz?

6/3/2009 9:38:00 AM

what would you do if you saw a bunch of little kids being burned alive. You you just stand there and "weep". Fuck no, you would go and HELP THEM!!

your gods a fuckin sadist if he just stands there and watches people burn for eternity.

Yeah, yeah, yeah, he's sorry as all hell, but he'll get over it.

I want to weep when people who are old enough to type write crap like that.

Honestly, I think hell isn't a bad place after all. I've heard rumors that they actually have a very good cocktail bar there ... and that they have a torture chamber only because the catholic church insisted on it. (and the torture chamber is quite deserted and unused, after all...) Otherwise, the devil and the demons are a quite friendly stuff, and there is party all day and night round. The fallen angels abandoned heaven mainly because it became unbearingly boring there.

And thats the reason why Jesus weeps: There is the best party in all eternity, but he is not allowed to participate. He must stay in heaven for eternity, and hear all day praising, harp playing, and "Glory Glory Halleluljah!" No wonder he weeps ...

1/18/2011 5:18:43 AM

Uhh, no.

1/18/2011 5:44:26 AM

So he doesn’t like it, but he cannot do anything about it? So much for omnipotent.

1/18/2011 7:26:23 AM

Dr. Shrinker

Yet it was your god, who is Jesus (or vice-versa) who created both hell and imperfect beings to condemn to it. Then, Jesus (or your god) weeps when said imperfect beings end up in said hell. Clearly your god, or Jesus, or whomever is working against its own best interests. If we cannot attribute this to ignorance due to assumptions of omniscience, or malice (because you insist that your god is a loving god, despite the evidence), then we must conclude that your god/Jesus/whomever is insane.

Now comes the question: how can you rely on the promises of an insane god? If your god is insane, how can you be sure that any pronouncement of faith, any act(s) or anything else will please it? Indeed, one would think that avoiding the attentions of an insane god would be most prudent. If that is the case, why would anyone be a Christian?

And you can forget about trying to rephrase the issue. Whenever god, divine love and hell get brought up, the same conclusion always seems to result.

that sounds so fucking stupid

"God loves people who are in Hell. Those in Hell can't feel that love, but the reality of Hell does not alter the reality of his love. When Jesus sees people in Hell, he weeps."

Congratulations True_Blue. You've just destroyed your own 'beliefs', and more than justified Atheism. Why?

If Jesus is God, then the GodJesus part(s) of the Trinity (and thus, by definition the 'Holy Spirit') is/are (a) hypocrite(s) - when Jesus hated hypocrites, as stated in the Bible - thus GodJesus is/are (a) contradiction(s) to himself/themselves. Also reinfoced by the notion that God is Love, and Merciful. But by what you say, True_Blue, you further contradict what GodJesus is/are supposed to represent, thus further proving that, as they're a contradiction to him/themselves, ergo the Trinity (GodJesusHoly Spirit) do(es)n't exist.

Thanks for doing all the work for we Atheists, pal.

Yes, infinite punishment for a finite crime is just.

My (estimated) 70-80 years on earth, with my greatest crime (in your eyes) that of being an atheist, will be punished with billions upon billions of years living in eternal torture, punishment, pain and suffering.

But hey, Jesus will be weeping from heaven, so its ok.

1/18/2011 11:12:30 AM

I fully agree with the OP. Catholics, at least, do not define Hell as a lava pit, but rather the state of the soul without God.

Therefore, people in Hell are not in Heaven because they don't want to. It is not that the door isn't open, but rather than they do not want to pass through it, even if it is in front of them.

About infinity....some phylosophical (sp?) discussions actually argue that pure spirits (such as God, angels and demons) are actually atemporal. So, I'm not sure if infinity would be the right word.

1/18/2011 7:59:42 PM

Wait, was this supposed to make me feel sorry for him?

1/18/2011 8:11:03 PM

These people are so full of shit. A 'loving' God punishing people is one thing, but 'for all eternity'? Effectively giving the same punishment to nice people that didn't believe as he gives to genocidal maniacs? WHY would you want to worship a monster like that?

6/11/2012 8:48:20 PM

Sorry for the Godwin, but Hitler wept when he saw the jews in the gas chambers, too.

6/11/2012 10:02:42 PM

Damnit, I have to think before pressing “refresh“

6/11/2012 10:06:50 PM

I guess since the fundie line is that anyone who isn't a TrueChristian is in Hell, Jesus must be pretty ticked off at never having a chance to shoot the breeze with cool cats like Aristotle or Camus.

6/12/2012 1:27:18 AM

Then why does he leave them there?

6/12/2012 2:14:41 AM

Well, it's a good thing it's all a myth then, isn't it.
