As far as Hovind not being a Dr., what if I were to have a BA. degree from a non accredited college in electronics??? Would that be a real degree or not??? HMMMM??? It does not matter where someone gets a degree wether it was correspondance or not, so just deal with it.

Ok, here's a really easy test. First aquire one of these electronics degrees and then try and fix or build something electronic. If it works, then yes. If you fail miserably, then it's not.
off you go.
How about you use the Voodoo man as your Doctor then. Or Aunt Matilda, sure she knows as much as a REAL Doctor.
Isn't using the Title Doctor illegal when you don't have a real Doctorate? How do Hovind and Dr. Phil get around that?
I just established a non-accredited college in my garage that I call "Harverd University" and granted myself a PhD in nuclear physics. It should be pretty easy to land a sweet tenured position with those credentials.
I'm kind of curious, though...from which non-accredited college did you get your degree in electronics, and has this helped you in your search for gainful employment?

No. No it would not. I could write "I can has degree, plz?" on a piece of paper, and it would have the exact validity of your "degree."
A Professor of Theology would pay his taxes. As does the Atheist biologist, lecturer, author and broacaster Professor Richard Dawkins FRS, FRSL .
And Kent Hovind didn't . Ergo his ten-stretch for Not Rendering Unto Caesar. QED.
So just deal with it.

...as far as he & his cellmate Bubba are concerned, ol' Kentypoos isn't. >:D
There are plenty of places online where someone
can send away for a college degree for a price.
You don't have to read a book or take a test.
Just tell them what sort of degree you want,
give them some money and they award you a college degree.
Or,
I could print you a college degree right here on my computer. I could but I won't.
You can do that yourself.
With this in mind, it DOES matter where someone gets a degree.
@Devil Hunter
A littl ole place called "Patriot (Bible) University" http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Patriot_bible_university
(In short, a double-wide in the middle of BF Colorado) A PhD from this "esteemed" institution will cost ya around $2200. No professors, just counselors. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2hGoNJ2B34c
To me it's just tragic how some people don't seem to appreciate what a degree means (a certificate of competence, which has legal connotations) but that's what happens when you never move beyond hom skool.

Ah yes, Kent Hovind's alma mater, Patriot Bible University:

Such hallowed halls of academia, to rival the frankly insignificant institutions that are Yale, Harvard, MIT; France's Sorbonne; Japan's Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, and Keio & Waseda. To say nothing of the UK's Oxford and Cambridge.
"what if I were to have a BA. degree from a non accredited college in electronics???"
Well, for a start, here in the UK you'd be breaking the law. To say nothing of if you tried to install/repair a gas cooker/fire/heating system etc without being a registered CORGI engineer.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Council_for_Registered_Gas_Installers
Any and all training establishments here in the UK - whether for gas, plumbing (water/gas) and especially electrical have to be registered & licenced by the government's Department of Trade and Industry.
Seeing as everyone else has torn this idiot to well-deserved shreds, I'll complain about one of my pet peeves: This arrogant "just deal with it" routine. Even having to read that makes me want to choke this person while telling them, "Just deal with it!"
So, a fake "Treskilling" Yellow stamp should collect just as much as the true one, right? Just like a fake Cullinan Diamond made of plasticine should be worth just as much as the real one. Just deal with it!
You obviously got a "correspondance" course in grammar and spelling, and look where that landed you; in Ridicule Land.

Also
They are called non-accredited for a reason. Either they never applied to be accredited or were refused it.
These are not just non-accredited schools, these are non-schools. If they actually taught something at the acceptable level they would be accepted.
Your example of electronics is a little off too. A BA is a bachelor of arts, an electronics graduadate is a BS, bachelor of science.
I think Hovind actually has a PHD in religious studies, theology from an unaccredited mail-in joke of a school.
It's theology, you can be a preist in America with less effort and still actually be an accredited priest. But even credited theology PhDs in America are like the kids with the Childrens Bible.
Confused?
